MORE FISH STORIES & OPEN HOUSE FRO ALEX

MONDAY:
I started the week off early, I was up before Betsy started getting ready for work.  I made my coffee and went downstairs to keep quite.  I turned the tellie on real low, laid down on the sofa and promptly fell asleep until 10:00.  Bob was up a doing jobs all ready.  My excuse, I was up and down all night.
Yesterday, I watched the Bills loose their game and worried that the Steelers might loose theirs.  The Steelers had the dropsy's!  It was very frustrating and I felt like turning the TV off!  My attitude was probably because Troy wasn't playing due to an ankle injury.  He's my man!  So then I start watching for Hines Ward.  What to heck, he appears in a suit and tie and does an announcement.  He isn't playing either; did he get let go?  I wanted to know so I looked up the Steeler's web site on the Ipad
(I'm in bed watching the end of game)  and found out Hines had retired in March!  Retired?  How did I miss that?  Guess that makes me a very passive fan.
We both went down town (once I woke up) as  I had 2 packages to mail, wanted to go to the restaurant supply, BJ'S, and Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Phew, we did it and I was whipped.   Bob suggested getting lunch at Burger King so we went there.  Burger King has been remodeling since early summer and they even did the inside dinning areas.  It's mostly red with real light wood.   They have more smaller tables for two, a couple booths formed with high walls and cushioned stools on the isle side.  They have 3 sofas and a coffee table up front which is really different and towards the back they put in a high counter with 8 really high chairs along with other sitting areas. I always think those high walls are protection in the event  a nut case comes in shooting!  It's happened in other cities.
At home we put our purchases away, and I started the wash.  Bob wanted to work outside for awhile so we had a later supper.
Now it's almost time for the debate so I'm hurrying.  This debate will make or break it, the news commentators are saying.  Today's polls had the two contestants tied.  I saw this cute cartoon on Face Book and I had to copy it.
TUESDAY:
Our calendar this week is jammed.  This morning we went down to the Office For The Aging to attend an insurance information meeting.  They schedule this for new Medicare recipients or anyone wishing to change providers.  The next meetings are: Tuesday-10:00-4:00-Oct. 23, Oct. 30th, Nov. 13th, and Dec. 4th)  No appointment necessary; take a chair and wait.
Their main dinning room was the location; and they had representatives from Univera, Independent Health, AARP, MVP, and a couple others.  Free coffee and donuts.  Free Blood Pressure Screening.
After talking to a rep for 1 1/2 hours and friends, we prepare to leave and Bob decides to have his blood pressure checked.  His left arm was used and he had a perfect reading.  Okay Bob lets go! Then he decides to have the right arm checked-it was high!  So that led to another big explanation and I became impatient and was on my way out!  I was happy that I didn't get a coughing jag while there so let's go already.
I want to change companies so I don't have to go thur the referral process since my doctor's staff is so slow.  I'd change doctors too if I knew one taking new clients.
We had lunch at home and Bob laid down for his nap.  I baked cookies as the guys are going fishing tomorrow.  About 3o'clock Alex came.  He needed to put things in our garage while he went to have his Jeep weighed.  He is in the process of preparing for his departure to Vance Air Force Base and they will pay for his moving expense.  Alex was back in an hour.
I tried to talk him into doing a Blog when he is gone but he wasn't  to excited about that as he isn't a Face book member.
We all had dinner together and waited for David to come.  The guys worked in the garage fixings their poles and hooks until 9:00.  One of my nieces mentioned deer hunting videos at their house, fishermen are not left out,  my guys had their own seminar with their IPADS and Apps on tying knots.  (Their not taking them to the creek, I have to finish my story.)They were instructed to wear their boots and gear in the car and be ready to head for the creek at 5:30am.  Oh my-all for fishing!  I made a big batch of popcorn just like I used to do when I had all the grand kids home.  I haven't had Alex overnight in sometime so had to spoil him a little.  Grandma's prerogative!
WEDNESDAY:
My the house is quite.  The guys must have departed without my help.   I kept busy all day with some items to hand wash, blogging, a couple phone calls, a turkey dinner and about 3:30 I sat down to read.    At 4:45 the guys weren't home nor had they called.  So I called Bob to see if they were okay and to ask if I should leave a light on for them. Ha!   They were still in the creek!  A 13 hour fishing day, I'll bet their backs are aching.  Guess I better take the turkey out of the oven and we will have to zap it when they get home!
And here comes the fish stories.  David and Alex both caught about 9-10 fish.  They lost count.  Bob- ???

DAVID'S FIRST CATCH!  NICE ONE!

ALEX'S BIGGEST CATCH    BIG MAMA!
WE ALL GUESSED THE WEIGHT 10 -30 POUNDS

THEY CAUGHT THESE TWO AT THE SAME TIME!
DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE FISH BUT MY GUYS ARE SURE HANDSOME

BOB'S ONE AND ONLY.

Before going into the creek, they had to wait until a half hour before day break.  They were to stand on bank and mark their fishing spot.  The early bird gets the worm!

They had packed Subway sandwiches for lunch and they brought them home.  I asked how come you didn't eat?  Alex explained  to me that if you left your spot in the creek another angler would take your spot.  Can you imagine?  Men being that immature?  Alex had their guide bring him food out into the creek.
The guys cleaned the car out and packed their gear away before supper.  We heard some more fish stories.  They left shortly after as they were exhausted.
 THURSDAY:
What a beautiful day, sunny and hot!  We could have used the air conditioners as the kitchen was hot this after noon.  Since I haven't cleaned house in a "Coon's Age", I decided to do it today.  Well, the upstairs anyway.  I started in the bedroom, changing the bedding, and worked out from there.  It was hard to keep going.  I'd look outside and want to be out there.  Bob used the Shark machine on the kitchen and bathroom floors to help me.  Later he had a dentist appointment. I took a nap.

FRIDAY:
A morning trip to the grocery store as we needed a few items.  After lunch we went out to rake leaves.  Miserable job but somebody has to do it.  It was beautiful out, nice and sunny.   Bob stayed out all afternoon but I came in and did some cleaning downstairs.  Then I took another nap.  It's an effort to do anything.
I made a simple supper and we settled in to watch TV.  Bob is happy as the "Gold Rush" is starting back up.  However, he is complaining that his back hurts.  By late evening, I had to push him up the stairs.  Oh Boy.
SATURDAY:
A dark and gloomy day here, with some fog towards the woods.  Rain has been off and on, so much that the dog won't go out.  And, the weather men says it has nothing to do with the hurricane Sandy.  Maybe it will hit here by Tuesday.
Bob called me this morning to say that Betsy was driving him to the chiropractor.  He was miserable.
I promised to make chocolate dipped strawberries for the Open House tomorrow for Alex.   We can all say our goodbyes before he leaves for Vance Air force base.     So I dug into that project after we all had lunch.  I wasn't to pleased with the outcome as the chocolate looks to thick.  (any ideas?)
For supper I prepared pork chops breaded with smashed french fried onion rings.  They are usually real good. And, I threw in potatoes to bake, easy is good.
After supper I cleaned some coconut (out of shell) to take to Lancaster.  The boys and I like it.  Bob moved around from chair to chair trying to get comfortable after being in bed most of the day.
SUNDAY:
Another dark, gloomy, wet day.  We had breakfast and prepared to go to Lancaster for the Open House.  We left about 12:00.  Betsy had made meatballs in a cranberry sauce and hot dogs (mini) in a barbe cue sauce so we wanted  to get there early to set that up.
Donna had lots of good food; dips, cupcakes, veggie tray, carmel brownies, hoagie sandwiches to name a few.  Seems everyone brought stuff as they arrived too.
We took some photos.

DAVID, DONNA, ERIC & ALEX

BOB, ALEX AND CAROLINE
MANY  GOOD LUCK WISHES  TO OUR FLY BOY!

MY THREE HANDSOME GRANDSONS
ERIC, ROCKY & ALEX

We visited with alot of people.  Donna said they are leaving on Thursday now to drive Alex out to Oklahoma.  He has to be signed in by the 3rd.  His Jeep is packed; the only problem is not enough room for passengers!  They have to work on that one!

Debbie and Rocco were tanned from their vacation in Hawaii.  Annalynn brought a couple deserts; a pumpkin filled coffee cake which was very good.  Right in the season!  Christianna, the new bride was making a list of groceries so she can host Thanksgiving.  Tradition for a new bride in our family!  She decided to turn the turkey cooking over to Rocky and Mike.  They freaked out!

Some of us tried to watched the Steeler's game but it was just to noisy to hear once the guests  came.  Alex's friend Jay is doing his student teaching in Phys Ed and he knew every player on the field.  Big sports fan.  What did you think of the Steeler's uniforms from 1937?  They looked like a swarm of bees!

We are home now and it's time to the veggie out and get the pajamas on.

So I'm posting early.  Have a good week and I'll pray we all survive "Sandy" with out damage.  Thanks for clicking in.

A SICK HOUSEHOLD, DARN WEIRD WEATHER.

MONDAY:
Photos of the 2012 NIKE LLS marathon that TEAM ANNALYNN was in San Fransico.

SOME OF TEAM ANNALYNN

MORE OF THE TEAM

IF THIS IS THE NECKLACE I'VE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT, IT'S DISAPPOINTING!

DEBBIE  STILL IN SF, CALF.

I guess it's my turn to be sick.  Betsy has been fighting a cold which turned into walking penumonia, Bob has been coughing for about a week, and was miserable while camping.  Now I'm sneezing and a blowing the nose.  There's not to much ambition that goes with it either.  I took care of the last two loads of wash and that was about it.
During lunch last week with friends, we traded books.  I'm now reading the Apostle of Charity.  The life story of Father Nelson Henry Baker.  His birthdate is not confirmed but he died in 1936.  He lived in Lackawanna.  He extended the boys home, built the unwed mother's home, a hospital, and a Basilica.  The Basilica has stone or marble from Europe.  It's amazing what he accomplished without a computer.  His story is unconditional love, unbridled faith, and an unshakable belief in a better life for all God's children.  Remind's me of Grandma Lang in many ways as each time there was a birth in our family, Gram would say "One more head for God to love!"

TUESDAY:

I was up early so I checked the computer for more pics.  Then I folded yesterdays washing.  Man the sweatshirts!  Weather is weird!  Cold then 70o.
I went downtown to post some mail early with the hope of the delivery making it to Lancaster for my sons birthday tomorrow.  Hope, hope, pray, pray.  Also stopped at Aldi's for some veggies.

After lunch I had some accounts on computer to balance.  That wiped out several hours.

Debbie just called from Honolulu, they were waiting on their room to be ready.  Saturday they will move to Maui where Rocco has a conference.  Looks so beautiful!

Trying to decide if I'm going to watch the debate.  Wonder which face Obama will wear tonight.  Last debate it didn't look like he wanted the job.  Who would?
WEDNESDAY:
Really not up to snuff, the ears and throat hurts now.  So I started to make cabbage rolls  so there would be something ready to eat.  I boiled the leaves and let them cool.  (a kitchen hint Gram Rindo taught me; when leaves are cool, turn them over and trim the hard vein so the leaf is more flexible for rolling) While the hamburg defrosted I laid down.  About 3 o"clock I fried the onions and put the rolls together.  I let them cook until supper time.   That's about all I got done for the day.  I didn't even feel like reading.
THURSDAY:
Betsy went back to work today after being home sick for two days.  I got up to eat and that was it.  I've had chills and fever spells.  It certainly doesn't make anything exciting to write about.
Bob was feeling better from his cold so he went back up to the fishing creek in Waterport, so it was nice and quite here except for my phone ringing.

ROCKY ENJOYING THE WAKIKI BEACH!

DEBBIE @ THE BEACH

ROCCO & ROCKY AT THE REDWOOD FOREST.

FRIDAY:
A nice morning.  I feel a little bit better.  I decided to dress warm and go out to clean all freezable (and mouse temptations) out of the motor home while Bob does the winterizing.   Then I had all that stuff to put away inside the house, but it's done and I won't be worried about this changing weather getting the best of me.  A frozen mess wouldn't be fun next spring.  So our dearly beloved motor home is put away for the winter; we will have to find other entertaining events.
Bob had more to do than I did so I came inside until he finished up.  I decided to find out what we owed to Betsy for tolls since the EZ pass is in her name.   I worked on three months billing.  We had some pretty long runs and it adds up quickly.

SATURDAY:
We had a early wake up as David & Donna were coming to borrow our truck to move some furniture for Alex.  They brought a box of big, beautiful donuts from a new place called Paula's on Main St. in Lancaster.  They were delicious.  They had to be in Rochester by 10 so they didn't have long to stay.

After lunch, I laid down to watch TV.  I fell asleep.  Bob shook me to tell me he had a change of plans.  Now he was driving Donna's car to Lancaster and picking up our truck. David could use some help with a screen door.  ?
I had the rest of the day to myself and didn't do a thing.

SUNDAY:
Still lazy, not much going on around here.  Bob watching the Bills game.  I hope to watch the Steeler's tonight if I can stay awake.
This is a lousy blog so consider the circumstances.  Kerchoo!  This too shall pass!     Next week will be better.

So have a good week, making memories.

MONDAY:
The purpose of today is today!  I just read that somewhere.   When you get up late you feel like you have wasted the day, so you just have to make the best of it.  You start late and you finish late.
Due to Mother Nature changing her dress for the coming season; we must follow suit.  Get ready for the cold!  44 this am.   I don't care when Martha Stewart changes to flannel sheets; I changed ours today.  Bob also took out all the air conditioners.  I do miss having the bedroom window open.  And it's back to the good old fashioned oven meals; tonight it's pork roast, sauerkraut, baked potatoes and applesauce.
Working on computer I entered all the cash receipts, sent some e mails, and downloaded the debits.  I wrote out one thinking of you card, the wash is done and I just need help folding the sheets.  A very purposeful day.  Heading for bed soon, and the weather forecast is for the First Frost!  32o degrees tonight.
TUESDAY:
Yep, woke up to a frosted neighborhood.  The shed roof was completely white.  Hate the thoughts of more to come.
This morning I drove down town for some errands, then went to lunch with some girlfriends.  One was celebrating a birthday and another had just received her first Social Security check and we gave her the business about reaching maturity, ha!  After we went to the casino with a limit of $10.00, well we all know there in it to make money, and mine was gone in 15 minutes.  I had to wait around till my friends went broke.

Congratulations David
I guess today's high light was a picture received from son David.  He was entertaining customers today at Gowanda Creek and he finally caught a big fish.  Now we will have to hear what he was using; a woolly?  Wonder what kind of fish it is?  David's caption was "Fish On!"  Sunday I was talking to guys who had what I call a Rainbow Trout and they called it a Steel head.  They said I was right, but they explained to me it's a Steel head until it matures.  Oh,  anything to confuse a woman.  I'm gullible.
Bob's evening was watching TV as he worked outside all day.

BOB CUT OFF THE HOSTA PLANTS AROUND THE POOL-THEY WERE UGLY LOOKING.

I did some mending then worked on my Blog.  Trouble with the photo.
WEDNESDAY:

FISH ON!
I was up at 5:00 am, now where to heck am I going at that hour?  My sleep patterns are not normal, that's for sure.
We received another photo from son, David.  He has caught another fish.
Today really wasn't very warm to be fishing but if you catch one, what does the temperature matter.  I hope his customers are having some luck too.
In other news; Annalynn has been selected to give the inspirational speech at the LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY MARATHON out in California this weekend.  We are so proud of her.  We should have some photos coming soon of the race.
This weekend is our last camp out for the season, then it's winterize the coach.  Always a sad time.   This morning I spent some time going thur closets looking for warmer clothes to bring.  Bob is always telling me that he needs jeans.  I found that he has 16 pair hanging in there.  My gosh Bob!  4 lined with flannel, 2 Levis, 2Wrangler, 2 Arizona and several that are to big or to long.  He just doesn't look -they have to be right in front of him.

We went to Wal*Mart this afternoon as I wanted to get an alarm clock for the motor home, an alarm  with batteries for when we are dry dock camping.  We have been using our cell phones but up in Canada we wondered if it would cost us a phone call.  I also found the Reynolds Crock Pot plastic bags, freezer tape, and bay leaves.  I've been hunting for bay leaves for awhile.  So as much as I hate the Big Box store, I guess it has some advantages.
THURSDAY:
Big plans for today.  I wanted to bake to have something to take camping.  Plus I want to pack clothes, food and what ever.  Always first I have my coffee, then check the computer-this kinda wakes me up.   Then shower.  Now to decide what to bake.  I went thur recipes and wanted to make something pumpkin but nothing turned me on.  I ended up making a Fudge Ribbon Cake to take and a Apple Pie just to have tonight.  I didn't want my apples to spoil as I bought them a week or so ago.  It has been some time since I made the Fudge Ribbon Cake and the last one sunk in the middle.  So I very carefully did each step; it took me an hour to get it in the oven.  Getting slow there lady.
I was in the kitchen from 10:30 till 2:45.  Enough of that s---.  I snuck off to the bedroom for a nap as my back was a barking!   Bob called me to ask if the pie was ready to come out of oven, as the timer said "0".  Man, I bolted out of the bed and ran to take the pie out.  It was okay but I could have burned the house down.
We carried some things out to motor home then had supper.  I wanted to see the movie downtown so we dressed to go there.  Again we were the only people in the theater.  Everyone must be at home watching the debate.  We can pick up on the summary of it.

The movie was "Trouble With The Curve", it's entertaining but Clint Eastwood was a grumpy old man again and he is losing his voice.   A baseball & love story.  No shooting, no sex.  Why do they have to be so explicit with sex: it's almost instructional now.  Big Bucks that's why.

Well my cohorts have all gone to bed including the dog so best I do too.  I need to find something to read first.
FRIDAY:
We were all packed and backed out of the driveway about 12:30.  We only had about 15 miles to go to the campground so instead of towing the car, I followed the motorhome.  Our other 2 couples were just ahead of us.  We all checked in and received the key to hall for making our meals that we cook.

THE OFFICE, STORE, DINNING HALL AND SHOWER ROOMS.
THERE IS A TRAVEL BROCHURE PLAN TO FOLLOW ALL THE QUILT PATTERNS ON BARNS IN THE AREA.

While the sun was out, we all sat around and visited and before long it was time to get ready to go out for our Fish Fry dinner.  We went to LB Grand in Le Roy.  Three of us had a side of Dolly's famous spaghetti which is a good meal; the rest had fish.   After this we returned to camp and had a fire.  No one stayed out very long as the temperature dropped fast and our shoulders were cold.  31o expected tonight.  The campground owners shut all the water off for the night.  So we went in and watched TV and used the computers.  Maybe tomorrow night will be warmer.
SATURDAY:
I opened the camper door to look out - holy cow--the car is covered with frost!  It was cold.

We went to the hall to make breakfast about 9:00.  Simple pancakes and sausage took forever as we tried to cook while blowing fuses.  We visited while waiting.

CHAPTER 12 MEMBERS    WE ALL ENJOYED TRAVEL PHOTOS FROM THE JAE'S AND HANSON'S

VISITING   (SORRY IT'S BLURRY, I MUST HAVE MOVED.)

After we each went our own way; some to the farmer's market, the Caledonia Park, Camping World for parts and we went to the fishing hatchery.

ENTERING THE FISH HATCHERY

Bob then drove all over looking for a parking place near the trout stream but the only place was like a mud hole.  Sorry Bob.
Returning to camp, I built a fire and everyone came out to sit and visit until supper time.  Back at the hall, the fuses kept blowing so it was a while until we ate.
Rain started as we returned to motor homes so everyone went in.  Bob wanted to burn up some wood and clean the fire pit area so he went out with an umbrella and sat for a while.  A neighbor came over to visit.  I went out for a while.  When we go in we can enjoy hearing the rain on the roof.  I'm into a good book so that will finish my night.  It was a little  warmer today.
SUNDAY:
Much warmer today!  This morning for breakfast, Bonnie baked the biggest muffins for us all and Donna made waffles.  Donna  uses Club Soda to mix them up.  Everything was so good.  If I could make muffins that big and good, ahe.
We sat around for a while visiting before going back to the rigs and packing up to return home.

At home, Betsy was in the kitchen cooking up a storm...turkey ball soup and fried slices of turkey.  Um good.  We had coffee together and then unloaded the motor home.  I may as well start the washing since I have plenty of time.
I kept checking Face book for news on the Leukemia-Lymphoma Marathon  out in San Francisco and finally saw a poster or sign of some kind that said, I can, I will and I did.  So I'm assuming that  Team Annalynn all crossed the finish line.  I only have one photo so far, so I know Christianna made the finish line.  She is holding a gift from Tiffany's, one of the race sponsors.  Christianna has talked about doing this race to sponsor LLS and for the jewelry for about three years...nice going granddaughter!

CHRISTIANNA WITH HER TIFFANY GIFT BOX.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Well, that's enough Blogging for this week.  It's time to post and wish you all a great week.  Thanks for hanging out with me.

FISHING, FISHING AND MORE FISHING

MONDAY: October 1, 2012:

We were still in the campground  (Webster, Mass)  that Bob has had on his "bucket list"  since Sarah started to school at Bryant College.  It was a dilapidated, run down place.  It was listed in last year’s old KOA book, not this year's.   When we pulled in to register; the front office area should have sent the message to keep driving.
Over grown foliage, old figuren’s that needed a new paint job etc.  But Bob persisted; he was tired of driving.  He finally found the son of the owner’s; and he checked us in.   As we drove back into campground; junk and dirt was piled up around old,  old campers.  It was spooky looking with all that and the leaves falling.    During the night; we were both scared that we would have an encounter with the “trash people” who lived there.  We slept with one eye open.    We were anxious to leave and did so by 9:30am.  We stopped at Turning Stone Casino area to get diesel fuel ($4.12 a gal.) and had the best cup of coffee and huge donuts.  Bob drove as far as Herkimer KOA.  The little devil had fishing on his mind as we have been here before and there is a nice trout stream which goes by camp.  Okay Bob.

I SNUCK UP BEHIND HIM FOR THE PIC.
THE BIG FISHERMAN

LITTLE CANADA CREEK  A BEAUTIFUL SPOT.

We checked in and after set up; he headed for the stream.  I planned supper late so he could stay out until near dark.   We had pot pies and salad and then Bob stretched out on the floor and was sleeping in no time.  He never changed the channels on cable after turning it on.  I did a load of wash, finished a book and worked on computer before going to bed.  Had to read my grocery store ads, ha!

TUESDAY/October 2, 2012:

Bob woke me up about 9:30; “up n at em”  it’s time to go home!   He had been up since 5:00am and was out in the Little Canada Creek fishing having the best time until he realized that the NY State fishing license’s all expire on September 30th!   He was worried that a “water cop” might check him out.  Just when I wanted to stay another day, figures.
Wow!  Hurry up and dress and pack for take off.  No shower, come on Bob, we have sewer.  Check out was 11am.
I do as I’m told and we hook up.  Check the lights, affirm!  Watch the hitch brackets; they pop as needed.  Bob pulls ahead and the car tires are sliding!  Atu Oh!  What to do?  Usually we work communication with our cell phones; Bob’s cell phone was dead this morning.  I ran to the side of car where he could see me in the mirror; no response.  So I ran around the car again and headed for front door of motor home.  I yelled in, “the car tires are dragging!”   Bob put the MH in park and came back to check car transmission which was in the wrong gear.  Oops!  Haste makes waste.  We stopped at a rest area for a late lunch, Bob took a nap as he was wilting at the wheel.  That 5:00am fishing was catching up to him.   We were home about 3:45 and started the dreaded unloading.  It was a fun trip.
WEDNESDAY:
We brought the wash in and I must have 10 loads for goodness sake.  Next the groceries, we had used up most of them.
My  friend Mo came for coffee.  She asked Bob to fix her Witch which is an outside decoration.  It had fallen apart.  She brought us a couple small pumpkins and some freshly canned hot sauce.
After supper, I opened the mail from the week and put all the bills in the "To Be Paid" folder.  I wasn't concentrating good enough to pay them, so I checked out some e mails and watched some TV.
One of my Blog readers wrote to tell me that Reynolds Co. makes a special plastic bag for crock pots.  Thanks Sukie, I'll check it out.
THURSDAY:
While Bob washed the car and the motor home, I folded and pressed the drip dry clothes from yesterday's washing.  I hang most of Bob's shirts and all his sweat shirts; heaven forbid if I shrink them.  I carried it all out to the motor home and put it away for the next outing.

As I was walking back into the house, I remembered to check the sunflowers.  I have been asking many people when to harvest the seeds.  Last time I checked them the seeds were still white.  Today, they were black and most of them had blown away.  Darn!  So I chopped them off and sat on the porch to shell the remaining seeds for the birds.  Who but a retiree has the time to do that?
Then I sat down to pay bills.  Vacation is fun until you have to pay for it!
We had receipts all in a folder but some were cash,  some were debits, and a few were Master Card which took a little while to straighten out.

With that job finished; it's was time to make supper and the evening just goes.  I don't like it getting so dark so soon now, I hardly have time to check the field for deer after supper.
FRIDAY;
Last night was sleepless-again.  I had a funny dream.  I was in a house/building/ or store making salads to put on this big conveyor belt that went around the building.  A salesman was telling me to buy the system as it was the "peaches in cream" idea for every household.  Dumb Eh?

I also had a revolting development before going to sleep.  I was reading one of the free books on the Ipad, trying to finish it and see how they solved the mystery.  I turned another page and it said, "TO BE CONTINUED IN THE SPRING ISSUE!"   I was bummed.  It's not funny!

I baked cookies today to bring to the Utica/Buf St. football game tomorrow to give to Eric for the bus ride back to Utica.  Donna is also baking for him.

I'm waiting on the guys to get home from fishing.  David, Alex and Bob left about 12:30 to go to Orchard Creek, up towards the lake.  Now 6:30, I'm hungry so guess I'll go eat.  They returned about 7:30pm.  They had eaten somewhere, thank goodness.  Their fish stories are growing, all 3 of them said they had seen fish 3 feet long - all around their feet.  They could see them coming up stream as they swished and swished their bodies, splashing the water.  Well guys, that's quite a fish story.

ALEX READY TO GO.

ALEX & DAVID

FISH WERE ALL AROUND DAVID.

Bob and I watched some TV but he could hardly keep his eyes open after being outdoors all day.
SATURDAY:
A long busy day.  We left home about 10:00 and drove to our son's house where we had coffee and donuts.  At 11:00 we drove to the Buffalo State football field.  The parking lots were already full so we got out and Alex took our car and parked it across the way.

Utica played a good first half, with 2 touchdowns.  The third quarter was disappointing as the Buff team scored 3 touchdowns.  Wake up Utica!
It was very, very windy and cold so I left figuring this wasn't fun.  As I sat in the car I could hear screaming from the football field.  Ah good I thought the game is over.  Not so, it was another hour before the game ended and Utica had come back to life and scored 3 touchdowns in that last quarter.  They won the game and everyone said they couldn't believe it.  We visited with grandson, Eric until he had to board the bus.  Due to his knee surgery, Eric is now a coach and he was spotting for the team until next season when he will be back on the team.

UTICA PIONEERS TEAM - FEAR THE MOOSE!

SEE HOW COLD AND WINDY!
DAVID, DONNA AND I

LOOK AT THAT SCORE.

We then went to the Olive Garden to eat, my favorite place for eggplant parmasan.
The "fishing guys" had coupons for the Orvis store so that was our next stop.  I think we were in there for 2 hours.  If Bob bought something he would show David and then David would have to buy one and vice versa.  Alex noticed that was happening and he told Donna and I so we had the best laugh about it.  Two peas in a pod!  At home a short time and then off to bed.

SUNDAY:
Where do you think I found Bob this morning?  He was going threw all his new purchases from Orvis.  He was sorting and storing them.  I asked if he wanted to go fishing and try the new stuff out so I could see these fish by your feet, ha!  We had lunch and left and I was pleasantly surprised at the location.  Down in a deep ravine there was a fishing camp which is run by the Archers Club of Waterport.

THE MEMBERS COOK BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR THE MEN.
THEY HAVE A MEETING CABIN, A KITCHEN AND A REC ROOM, EVEN JOHNS.
What a beautiful setting.  I put my chair by the creek and watched, wishing I had a video camera.  I counted 17 fishermen on the creek that I could see, standing about 20 feet apart, just a whipping those lines.  It's true, it's true, the fish come swimming up stream just a thrasing and splashing the water.  I couldn't see them around their feet but I could see them near the bank.  Bob said it was frustrating to put the hook in front of their mouth and they wouldn't bite.

THAT'S BOB

SOME YOUNG MAN CAUGHT THESE SALMON AND WAS PULLING THEM UP THE ROAD.
I MEASURED THEM AND THEY WERE 36 & 38 INCHES LONG.

About 4 o'clock it starting raining and that made it cold.  Bob came in from the creek as his shoulders were cold.  We came home to a nice spaghetti dinner waiting to be served.  Thanks to Betsy.

I think I have all my photos in now and I need to run the spell checker before posting.

Hope you have a good week ahead.  Make Memories!  Thanks for clicking in.
