MAY ROLLED MERRILY A LONG

MAY has moved right on!  I was hustling to finish a couple sewing projects so I could go outside and work and it preoccupied me.  So now I'm seated in my easy chair waiting for the Belmont Stakes race, time to Blog.

QUILT READY FOR QUILTING
Tutorial said "tape back panel to floor before pinning"
Prevents wrinkles on backing.

Using Walking Foot I quilted each block.

Wonder Clips-No pins now!

Hand Needle Threader
Toys!

I used Walking Foot to sew a Serpentine Stitch
around white border.  May add more in rails!  Quilting has lots of terminology!

I went to a class to learn Binding.
Instructions to finish joining so there is no folded under material.  You measure opening, extend pieces, sew them just like any other joining and replace on edge, walla, it fits.  Tricky!  Kit included fabric for three placements; who uses just three?

Getting a little braver, I wanted to learn something new.  So I made a pillow cover from a pattern in a magazine.

Flying Geese Pattern
In the meantime,  waiting for me and nice weather; Bob worked on a few things.

My old Mantis Rototiller wouldn't start.  Bob tried many things,  made several phone calls for advice and finally watched tutorials to see how to find and clean carburetor.  Success!  I really don't know how we grew up without these tutorials!  He also tore the lawn mower apart and sharpened the blades.

Here's a little of his wood work.  I wanted a candle holder without glass for the pool area.
(One in background was purchased)

He sprayed painted it black and I want a wisp of bronze put on it.  Maybe when Betsy has time.

A Robin built in the new box but a black bird went in and tore it up.  The Robin never returned.
Trimming a bush so we could see bird feeder.

We stopped trimming when this was discovered.

A big event for our family!

ROCCO, REV. JOSEPH LEVESQUE,  CHRISTIANNA

Our oldest granddaughter, CHRISTIANNA, went back to earn her four year degree from Niagara University.  So proud of her!   Her diploma was presented by (her Dad) Rocco as he is on the Board of Director's at NU.

Now all six of our grand kids are college grads and we attended the graduation for them all.  Three of the kids have Master's and we watched that presentation on the TV.  Stream or something like that...  One, our Annalynn is working on her PHD.   Talking Proud!

FOUR GENERATIONS
MYSELF, CHRISTIANNA, DEBBIE AND
GREAT GRAND BABY, LORENZO

Another milestone, our grand son, ALEX, who is in the Air Force, went on his first flying mission.  He and others escorted five jets to Hawaii, Guam and Okinawa and return.

David and Donna had been out to Wichita for a visit with Alex and Erin.  They toured the big "gas buggy"-KC135 refueler plane.

Alex's Office...
Lots of buttons on dash!

Bob and I enjoyed a "shake down" cruise  in the motor home to Pennsylvania.  We attended a Memorial for his Uncle in Crossingville and visited many relatives.

We had cool travel weather.  That evening Bob drained the anti freeze out of the washer and dryer, but not without trouble.  The door wouldn't open.  That was a puzzlement to solve.   Saturday we drove toward Erie to check out a fishing camp.

Uncle John's camp-small but very nice, it's right on a creek which exits to the lake.   After checking out that place, we drove to Presque Isle Beaches.  Bob wanted to go out to Perry's Monument and he came back to car drenched!  A cloud burst!

PERRY'S MONUMENT

That evening the weather had changed,  thunder, lighting, and wind.   The waves on the lake changed directions and white capped.  The camper rocked in the strong wind.  Bob went outside to put up the awnings before they tore off.  So much for lake front parking!

Well, the horse race is over and American Pharaoh made history by winning.   What an event.

Time to close and post.  I have a cute little good by photo.

Great Grand Son Lorenzo

GOOD BY KISSES

GOOD THING HE DOESN'T BITE YET!

Thanks for stopping by.
