We enjoyed the company of Bob's sister Jane and her hubby Allan. They live in Florida but spend the summers up North living on their sailboat.
Al's Sailboat |
Bob and Al went to the casino for an hour or so. When they returned, Bob was all excited as he had won $70.00. The truth is he recovered his first 40.00 and won $30.00. Sorry to break your bubble Bob! We had a great visit.
WEDNESDAY:
Jane and Al left about 10:30 am. Bob and I picked up the miscellaneous stuff that we had out to use. After lunch we both took a long nap. I now have the dreaded virus and nothing seems to help. Cough, cough!
Napping the whole afternoon, we had a late supper of leftovers. Bob went out to mow the lawn before the rain; a thunder and lightening storm was predicted.
I went back to bed about 8:00pm.
THURSDAY:
By the time I woke up, Bob was out cleaning the pool with a jacket on. It was cool. Maybe an Eskimo would jump in!
I proceeded to look at the hamper; there's nothing funny about a hamper that's over flowing. What a mess of clothes I had to sort. Many items were hand wash from all the dress up events of the past weekend; rehearsal & dinner Thursday, a funeral in PA on Friday, the wedding Saturday and breakfast at Debbie's and Rocco's on Sunday. Miska!
In between the washing, I read a couple Blogs. I found a mystery book to read that an RV'er has written. The lady character goes to garage sales and buys a carpet; it has a dead body rolled up in it! The title is "On The Road to Death's Door." It's available on Amazon.Com.
I was using the computer to long; at 3:00pm I gave in an went for another nap. Bob was just getting up from his nap. Bright eyed and bushy tailed; he was going to the store as he wanted Strawberry Pie. I told him that I didn't feel good enough to bake. At 5:00 pm the 2 quarts of local strawberries were sitting on the kitchen table. He had bought frozen pie shells, meat for supper, bread & milk. Arriving home from work, Betsy says "Oh how cute, we are making Strawberry pies together!"
Bob pierced the crust with a fork; about 200 times! |

FRIDAY:
Guess I've had enough sleep. I'm up at 7:30am. Coffee in hand, I head for the porch to look for deer. We have had one deer come up the furrow and just stand around-looking. Yesterday while sitting out there, it came again. We watched for a while and low and behold, a baby fawn was jumping around beside her. The grass and weeds is as tall as the baby. She must be nesting near the clump of thick sumac bushes.
I worked on folding clothes and ironing trying to get caught up. Nothing to exciting. Late in the afternoon, we went downtown to drop off the gowns for dry cleaning, go to bank, and BJ's. On the way home Bob picked up hot roast beef sandwiches for our supper. Yeah, I don't have to cook.
I have so many wedding photos that I'm looking for a different way to share them. I have photos from Bob, David, Jane, and the Gkids. What to do? When I feel better, I'll work with them.
We heard on the news that the owner of the horse "I'll Have Another" has scratched him from the race on Saturday due to a leg infection. All America was disappointed. I'm still looking forward to watching the race.
SATURDAY:
All hands on deck! We had work every where. Bob and Betsy started the outside work by going on the roof to repair the solar pool heater. It is in bad shape. Betsy said, instead of pin holes, there is now slits in the tubing. She removed one real bad panel.
BOB SUPERVISING! |
SO CLOSE TO THE EDGE! |
The bushes out front of the house needed trimming so we started that next. I want the shrubs to look like they are on a terrace...ones at back higher. I had to watch my helpers because they were gun ho with the trimmers. A couple boxwood shrubs were frozen and dead so Betsy yanked them out.
THIS RED BUSH WAS WAY TO BIG! BETSY WACKING AWAY! |
NICE AND NEAT AGAIN! |
I pulled weeds, made lunch and supper. It was a hard day for all. Now to relax.
SUNDAY:
I had a lousy night, almost every hour on the hour, coughing! When I did wake up it was 10:30 am. I looked out the bedroom window and Bob and Betsy had put the canopy on the gazebo already. I took my coffee out. Then they carried the wicker set out and put up the cushions. It looks inviting.
They went back up on the roof to finish the solar heater repairs. It was too hot already. So we lunched, Bob napped, Betsy sunbathed, and I went for a few groceries. I had one coughing jag at the store and one lady looked at me as if to say, "why didn't you stay home?" Sorry lady. I hope to feel better soon.
Of course, that made me grouchy, so I complained about not enough cashiers open. (5 out of 22) I just wanted to get out of there before I coughed again. It didn't do any good,
So hopefully next week will be better for me. Thanks for clicking in. Have a good week.
