AN ACTIVE WEEK!

MONDAY:
The whole family was up bright and early to say good by to Sarah.  Sarah and her friend had loaded her car Sunday night, so they could take off early for Boston-7:00am!  They made the trip without any problems and without alot of traffic, much to our surprise with the holiday.
Loaded to the roof!

Sarah & Tiffany ready to take off for Boston.
I went back to bed!  When I got up Betsy was busy spray painting the lounges to match the new pool table.  It was hot and muggy out.
Bob had started mudding on the ceiling in the downstairs bath.  So, I started the Monday schedule...washing, etc. Ugh!
Debbie came over in the afternoon for a visit and to pick up the YUDU machine that we picked up at Michael's.  She shared events of their trip to New York City.

TUESDAY:
After my coffee, I went out to plant some impatiens before it got to hot.  I like a border of them along the garage and near my garden by pool filter.  I used to put marigolds in to ward off the mosquitos (so they say) but we have an adorable chipmunk family that just love marigolds.  Two years ago, I planted the marigolds twice because the chips sniped them right off.   Enough of that stuff.
Then I pulled weeds in the shade by the motor home.  I can't stand weeds in the stone driveway.  It just looks unkempt.  I didn't make much of a dent in it.  Hay, I have the whole summer and once the pool is warm I can cool off every now and then. Because it was so hot, we went to Bob Evan's for supper.  They have the best cheeseburgers.  After this I pulled more weeds until the bugs started biting.
WEDNESDAY
Bob and I had our coffee in the garage to access the work for the neighborhood garage sale this Saturday.  We figured out a floor plan and then started dragging the marked boxes down out of storage.  Then the pricing-lots of work but if they carry the stuff away then I'm happy.
In the afternoon, I went for groceries and Bob had returns for Home Depot and Lowe's.   On the way back home we stopped at Genesee County Chamber of Commerce to ask for handouts or anything available for our Holiday Rambler camping rally in September.  They gave us NY St. Maps, Genesee Cty. Maps, a Dining Brochure, and a Visitors guide booklet.  A good start for the welcome or goody  bags.
It was so windy today a person could hardly walk.  What's with this strange weather?  Bob moved all the patio chairs into the garage again.
THURSDAY:
My sister arrived at 9:15am.  We unloaded her car, visited, had lunch and then drove over to Melton Shoe Factory to shop.  We both found a pair of shoes each for $20.00.
During the afternoon, we worked on baskets for a benefit dinner this Sunday.  We have 6 all finished.  They are so pretty.
CUPCAKE FIXINGS!

ANOTHER CUPCAKE FIXINGS BASKET.

BATH BEAUTY SUPPLIES
In the evening, we painted designs on wine glasses.  Betsy painted glasses for Christianna's wedding shower.   We couldn't think of any designs to begin painting, so we just went ahead with lines and squiggles.  After doing a couple glasses, ideas came easier.  After painting we had to bake them.  That was a fun evening.

CRAFT CLASSES.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT AFTER BAKIING.

BETSY'S PROTOTYPE; THINK THE BRIDE-TO- BE WILL LIKE THE SMILY FACE?
FRIDAY:
After breakfast, we started baking.  I had promised to help make desserts for the benefit dinner.  (48 cupcakes, 4 pans of brownies) In the first batch of cupcakes, we had added Solo Almond paste to the batter.  We filled two trays and had batter left over, so rather than bake a pan with a few cupcakes, I added the batter to the same pans.  Oh, what a mess it made while baking,  the batter went up and over onto the pans. The cupcakes look like muffins!   We had to scrape them off the pans.  They taste very good but look messy!  Not a good start.  We finished with it all about 4:00pm,  just in time to start supper.

CUPCAKES AND BROWNIES
We had a glass of wine in our hand painted glasses.
Bob worked all day on getting garage sale items out.
SATURDAY:
The garage sale was to open at 8:00am.  We were up and moving stuff out into driveway around 7:00am. and we had customers coming already.  We had two big pool side tables and chairs that we wanted to sell plus two tables full of miscellaneous junk.  Once that was all out, my sister and I went to see all the other garage sales.
There must have been 13 or so neighbors with stuff out.  The street was loaded with traffic but not as heavy as last year when a fight broke out and the police had to be called.  Our son and his wife popped in to use Bob's router machine as they are changing wood work in one of our grandson's bedrooms.  David helped Bob to get the windshield wiper motor out of the motor home which quit working.  (Ride em & Fix em) They brought donuts so we enjoyed those with our coffee.
Once it rained, the traffic slowed down so my sister and I hurried off to the kitchen and made the Apple Cuts (apple pie on a cookie sheet) for the benefit dinner. Our tables sold and we were so glad, plus alot of the junk so there wasn't alot of clean up after 5:00pm.   We finished the evening with pizza for dinner and later drove to the ice cream stand for a treat!
SUNDAY:
We had breakfast and all of us started getting ready to go to the dinner.  (Benefit for Bill @ 1:00pm)  We loaded up our 48 cupcakes, 4 pans of Brownies, the Apple Cuts and the 6 auction baskets.  They had a wonderful turn out, over 400 dinners were sold.  They had two  50-50 Raffles, the charity baskets, and two trips with room, board and meals near the Thousand Islands.  The silent auction had big donations like bar-b-cue grills, Buffalo Bills' helmet, Buffalo Bills' jersey, Sabers' jersey, a kayak, bar stools and many other items.  Nope, we didn't win any.   The MC was great entertainer, he had a cute contest that he requested the audience's participation.  A good ice breaker type of a thing.
Once at home, Bob and Betsy mowed the lawn before more rain starts again.  This completes the week, time to start plans for the next one.  We will be on the road, heading for Lake George and the Americade.  So I need to plan a menu and I'm the one who hates to cook!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a good week and make lots of memories.  Thanks for clicking in!
