LAST WEEK OF JULY ALREADY!

MONDAY:
I had an appointment in Rochester at 2:15pm today for the rest of my tests for my annual physical.  You know how that breaks up a day?   After and while we were in Rochester we visited an old time friend in the hospital.  We arrived back home at 6:00pm.  We had a light supper and started to get ready to go to Lockport tomorrow.  Annalynn and I are making  fancy covered apples as a trial run for a brides' favor and to see if we can do it as pretty as the picture.  I had to do some research as I had asked Bob to cut some dowels for the project to save money.  Most apples available on the internet have 5-1/2 inch sticks.
Bob cut the dowels  and sanded a point on them.  Bob is also gathering up his electric tools as Debbie asked him to move a couple outlets in the new outdoor kitchen that Rocco is building.  Rocco is a master craftsman!
It's now 10:30pm and time to head to bed.  I'm reading a book by Dean Koontz called Intensity.  It's gruesome with horrible killings.  I keep asking myself why I keep reading it?  Must be because of the mystery!

TUESDAY:
I'm on high speed this morning: 6:00am and I'm making chocolate chip cookies to bring to Lockport for our lunch treat!  We left home at 10:00am, headed for Lockport.  We drove in Debbie's yard and saw that Christianna's car was home.  Hmmm?  Christianna is on vacation all week.  Coffee was made and we had a discussion on all the wedding questions; invitations, shower, bringing the motor home for the week, etc.  We paged thru the internet looking for a dress for Grandma Caroline.  We picked a color (secret) and found one....it's so pretty.  By then it was lunch time and Bob took our orders and Annalynn's coupon and headed off for our favorite lunch-TED'S HOT DOGS AND FRIES!  After, Annalynn and I went to the basement kitchen and started the candy apples.

WHAT A PHOTO!  SAD SACK!  I'M UNWRAPPING THE CARMEL'S.

ANNALYNN IS GOING TO WRAP THE STICKS WITH PRETTY RIBBON.

WE DIPPED WITH CARMEL FIRST.  AS WE WORKED THE CARMEL DROPPED TO BOTTOM OF APPLE IN A PUDDLE.  NOT GOOD!

DIPPING WITH WHITE & DARK CHOCOLATE WORKED BEST.

WE HAVE TO WORK SOME TO MAKE IT LIKE THIS ONE WE ARE COPYING.

ROCCO HAS THE FRAME UP FOR THE OUTDOOR KITCHEN.  THE GRILL WILL BE MOUNTED IN THE CORNER WITH A ROOF OVER IT.

DEBBIE IS LAYING TILE ON THE CEMENT PICNIC TABLE,   DOESN'T IT LOOK LIKE GPA ICY'S WORK.  HE INSPIRED US ALL!
Supper at home was a quick sloppy Joe sandwich made with Cream of Mushroom soup which bothered both of us all night.  Bob & Betsy mowed the lawn to get rid of the weeds sticking up.  I checked my e-mails, very sombering news from afar.  I tried to remember the new site Annalynn showed me; I forgot the name.  It's pin it or something..  Then I worked on the word scramble puzzle in the Penny Saver and then retreated to my gruesome book to finish the night.
WEDNESDAY:
After a fit full night, I'm slowly coming awake.  I have my decaf on the porch.  I'm retired.  It's Wednesday.  Betsy has dinner out tonight so I don't have to plan a meal as "MISS BATAVIA RESTAURANT" here we come.  What do I need to do today?   I hear big construction equipment; are they starting the development behind our house?  This decaf isn't doing it; I need to dump it and get some "HIGH OCTANE" coffee.  Holy Cow!  It's 9:45am and Bob isn't up and he has a meeting at 10:00am.  Oh my!
I printed lots of photos of the recent wedding to give to friends who couldn't attend.  Plus pushing the washing thru and a few other computer jobs.  When Bob returned he checked out the construction noise.  A neighbor is putting in an above ground pool.  Back home Bob started working on replacing the pump housing for the filter system.  He didn't have alot of room to work with all the pipes.  It was several hours later when he was satisfied that everything was working correctly.  He is going thru these projects pretty fast; what will I keep him busy with the rest of the week?  I shouldn't worry as I'll jinx something.

THE BLACK THING IS THE NEW PUMP HOUSING.
THURSDAY:
We have appointments for hair cuts today.  The beauty shop was busy.  Everyone getting shorter hair cuts to beat the heat.  I want a wash & wear style.  A couple more cuts and it will be all one length.  I hate perms that kink and dry out my hair.  Right now I kinda look like a Scarecrow with short lengths.  We had a big lunch at a nearby place and it was way too much food.  Feeling stuffed we didn't want to work on anything once back home.  Bob napped and I finished my book.
After we both went outside to work.  He started to work on the colored light for the pool.  He fitted cords together so we would have a pull thru once the old light was removed.  The electric cord on the new light was heavier duty than our broken light and it wouldn't go thru the pipe .  That turned into a "muscle job".   I tugged and he pushed.  No way!  Then Betsy came home and she pulled. Then the pull thru pulled apart!  So re- thread it.  They finally removed the ground wire to make more room in the pipe and tried to push all thru at once.  Success!    The funniest thing-Bob was in the water for some time fishing the wires thru piping.  He told me to move the Creepy Crawler away as it kept bumping into him.  So I did.  When the project was finished and Bob went in to shower -a small frog fell out of his trunks.  He didn't see it.  Betsy went in the bathroom next and she let out a scream!  What's in here!  So they figure it was the frog jumping around in Bob's trunks instead of the Creepy Crawler bumping him.  Following the rain, he found about 10 small frogs in and around the pool.

THE LIGHT IS JUST CHANGING TO PURPLE NOW.
FRIDAY:
This morning we cleaned house! UGH!  Every now and then it has to be done.  It's always worth the effort too.  Our friends who just celebrated their 50th anniversary are in town and they are coming over for a visit.  Betsy found a new freezer pie recipe and we made it up last night so I have that to serve.  Chocolate, Starbuck's coffee, sour cream, whipped cream-495 calories per 1/8 of pie!  Ought to be good.
Everyone is raving about the Fish Fry at the Batavia Downs so we went over to try it.  Bob said, "it was very good."  They have an early bird special until 6 o'clock which we missed.  The ponies are back so we watched a couple races, lost money in the slots and left for home.
SATURDAY:
Our day passed quickly.  Shopping at Michael's and the grocery store.  The Starbuck's pie was so good we decided to make two to take to Debbie's house tomorrow.   We swam a couple hours.  Supper was simple chicken on the grill and I'm now back to reading a new book for the rest of the night while Bob watches reruns.
 SUNDAY:
A cooler day today-it doesn't encourage swimming.  So I won't mind going to Lockport today as Christianna wants to have a meeting to go over a few shower details.  I don't know how long we will be so guess I'll post this now.

Have a good week and enjoy our last month of summer.

TRAVELING TO SEE RELATIVES!

MONDAY:
Same ole, same ole!  Washing, pay bills etc.  After sundown we packed the camper for a trip to PA.  My niece and her husband and her son and grandchildren were up from North Carolina.
TUESDAY:
A quick trip downtown to pick up some dry cleaning, go to the bank, and a stop at the Farmer's market for corn & veggies and we were all set to pack these items in the motor home then we take off for PA.  We hit the thruway at 11:15am.  Driving was hot!  We had the coach air on the whole trip.  We stopped for lunch at Angola Rest Area  and parked right in front of a big sign that said, "do not run diesel engines" which Bob ignored.  He shut the coach off but left the generator running so we would have air.  We arrived late afternoon at my sister's.  She had dinner on.

MY SISTER TOOTS, MY NIECE LINDA, ME AND MY NIECE'S HUSBAND, SHERMAN
 WEDNESDAY:
Family, family all day long.  My sister had invited them for a light lunch or dinner after work.  It was nice as we didn't have to drive to see them, and we visited until midnight!    (I think Bob put the camera down once the food came out as we had 36 people come)

BOB'S AUNT PHYLLIS ARRIVING
She is 80 years old and still enjoys horse back riding!

THURSDAY:
We left Albion, PA., about 10:00am.  Driving was not bad until we reached the Silver Creek area, then a wind picked up.  We had a big gust hit the coach and moved it over!  I asked Bob to put the weather channel on his CB and the announcer said, "20-30 mile an hour winds with gusts to 40 mile per hour!"  Four to six feet waves on Lake Erie so a small craft warning was on until 7:00pm.  Bob kept driving since we didn't hear anything threatening.  Arriving home about 2:30pm, we parked and let the dog out, and headed for a nappie.  Betsy called me to say supper was ready!  It was hot everywhere.  After the sun went down we unloaded the coach and then went swimming about 9:00pm.
FRIDAY:
We have a wedding tonight.  The fun part about going out is getting all gussied up but getting the clothes ironed and ready is not too much fun.  Bob's short sleeved dress shirt didn't button at the neck so I sent him shopping to J. C. Penney's.  I couldn't see him wearing long sleeves in this heat.  I changed outfits a couple times until I was comfortable.
Betsy drove us to the Creekside Party House on Union St. in Buffalo.  We took the thruway and that was a mistake-bumper to bumper cars-around Buffalo.  We slowed down to a crawl.  It was like the football traffic for the Buffalo Bills' games-unreal!

BALL AND CHAIN
Everything about the wedding was beautiful; the hall, the bride and groom, and the events.  They had a photo booth and we all lined up to take pictures for the couple's album. We all had a great time.
Driving home we could see the fireworks (held every Friday night there is a home game) from the Batavia Baseball stadium.

PRETTY!
  SATURDAY:
Good news this morning when I read my e-mails.  I had won a Scholarship basket (Kansas State Basket) at the HRRVC International Rally in Illinois.   Our web master is bringing it home for me.  She just delivered it.
2 WINES, PANCAKE MIX, BAR B QUE SAUCE, SALSA, SOAP, HAND CREAM, SUNFLOWER LETTER OPENER, AND SUNFLOWER BOOK MARK-ALL MADE IN KANSAS!
Stan's Motorcycle shop was having a garage sale so we met David & Donna there.  We had lunch at home and visited.  After they left we went swimming for the rest of the afternoon.
I had a couple Chapter 12 e mails to send out and when I finish that I then started working on the BLOG!
In the evening, I watered all my outdoor plants.  A 30% chance of rain is not good enough.

SUNDAY:
I heard rain during the night.  I don't know how long it came down but everything was clean looking this morning.   While swimming, I noticed that the gazebo tent had a corner sagging with rain water.  So Bob pushed that out.  Our pool water is down about 2" so any rain will help.
We needed some pool chemicals so Bob & Betsy went to supply store to get them.   Bob picked up a new pump housing as our's is cracked and leaking.  Betsy found a new light (with 8 changing colors) to replace our's which is not working anymore.  So Bob has some projects to work on this next week.  Everything is expensive but we sure have enjoyed the pool in this hot weather.
I went shopping too.  My pool flip flops fell apart yesterday.  The cement around the pool is too hot to walk on in bare feet.   I found a  close out deal at the sporting store so now I have a pair for the pool and the motor home.
I went to Bed Bath and Beyond next.  I wanted to get a small wedding gift for Nicole, a long time friend of Annalynn's.   Annalynn is one of her bridesmaids.  Nicole has been there (hospital) for Annalynn. I do not have a shower invite and I do not want one in this heat but I wanted to thank her.  So when I go to Lockport on Tuesday to help make candy apples for the shower, I'll bring the gift.
Oh, I bought a fluted pie dish and a rolling pin.  Earlier I printed some recipes that I will decorate to put in the gift.  I couldn't decide what to get her even thou her registry list was long.   Myself, I enjoy baking and so that swayed my gift.  The next coupon I get for there, I'm going back to get myself a rolling pin.  It had great hand grippers and rolled so easy.  (I have several now-it's a fetish I guess.  Hay, Bob has lots of drills!)

Enough already!  Everyone have a great week, stay cool.

PEACHES & WELCOME HOME ALEX!

MONDAY:
This spring, a man who drives a truck load of oranges (Indian River Direct) came every three or four weeks to our area.  He is now bringing Peaches from Georgia.  He parks at the Clor's restaurant and sells out of his truck.  Betsy and I spotted him on Saturday when we were out and about doing errands.  We bought a 1/2 bushel.   We had to let them sit to ripen a day or more.

WAITING FOR THEM TO RIPEN!
In the sizzling heat wave, I cranked up the upstairs air conditioner, and made a peach pie.   Now don't throw away those cook books ladies, as you age, you doubt yourself and need to refresh your mind  on ingredients.   I followed the recipe plus I added a touch of cinnamon and the pie turned out delicious!  The family could care less about what I made for supper; it was let's have pie!

SO GOOD!
After our supper, Betsy wanted to make peach jam, she had picked up the Sure Jell and Pectin on her last shopping trip.   She read the directions several times on both products.  I have never used Pectin.
She decided to go with the Pectin as you can adjust the amount needed by how many cups of fruit that you have ready.  She followed the directions and cooked it.  She ladled it into jars and I cleaned the rim and put the caps on.  It was jell-ing as she ladled it.  Then she insisted that we put it in the water bath canner.  I never ever put jelly thru that step.  When the time was up and jars removed, I noticed that the fruit pieces were evenly distributed in some of the jars; that's a desired product!  I guess your never too old to learn!

FIRST BATCH-GOOD JOB.  (CUP &HALF JARS)
In between all this cooking, I was called outside to help Bob check the lights on the motor home as he had an appointment for inspection bright and early Tuesday morning.  He didn't want to pay the garage to fix lights that didn't work.
Many of the photographers pictures from Ride For Roswell are now on the Flickr web site, so we went thru many of those albums looking for Team Annalynn members on the computer for the rest of the evening.
TUESDAY:
I helped Bob back the motor home out at 7:30am so he could go to the garage.  It passed inspection  and a grease job was done. Then he drove to Skyline to have the refrig recall (3rd time) done again.  So now we are already to travel.
I posted all the June cash receipts into Quicken.  It's a fruitless effort.  It's so busy in the summer, we never print the budget pages to evaluate if we stayed on budget.  Kinda dumb!  Well, at least they are in there so we can look up stuff when needed.
I did some ironing and by lunch time Bob was back.  After eating, he took a nap and I sat down to read.  I fell asleep and dropped my e-reader.  It still works.
Supper time we had chicken on the grill, fresh cukes and fried yellow squash.  I coat the squash with Bisquick and fry it.  It is so good that way.  After supper more peaches were ripe so  Betsy and I put up more peach jam and 6 pints of sliced peaches.  It was so stinking hot in the kitchen, even with the air conditioner.   We didn't make spaghetti sauce this past weekend because it was to hot and here we are canning.  No sense to that.
WEDNESDAY:
I dusted and picked up our bedroom while it was cool in there.  I still have to use the vacuum in there to finish.
In the afternoon, we went to K-Mart to buy canning jars.  I decided that I didn't want sliced peaches in the quart containers as we don't need that much for a meal now.   I must have 8 dozen quart jars in the shed.   I found some wide mouth pints that should work just fine.  Once home I washed the jars and had them all ready for scalding when Betsy and I started in again.

I had promised to bring an apple cookie sheet pie to our son's house tomorrow night when we have pizza & wings to welcome Alex home from boot camp.   So Betsy started peeling the apples and I quartered them and she made the pie crust.  We put that in the oven while we finished the last batch of peaches.  Now that really heated up the kitchen!  The famous last word, "I'm telling you right now Mom, we are not buying another bushel this weekend!"

COOKIE SHEET APPLE PIE

WE LOVE SLICED PEACHES  ON COTTAGE CHEESE!  VERY GOOD.
 THURSDAY:
We left the kitchen in a mess last night as it was so hot; so that's the first thing I did this morning.  Clean jars, clean the canner pot, pack the jars in boxes, and I tried to clean the oven from the pie run over.  The oven is a big mess as I wanted to be sure the bottom crust was done and left it in 10 minutes longer and it boiled over.   I didn't think a 1/2 bushel of peaches would go so far.  We ended up with 15 pints of sliced peaches and 16 jars of jam.  We have already eaten one jar of jam with Ritz crackers and our toast.  Yumm!  My AHA moment; I can see the top of the dinning room table again!

DONATED FROM CAMPING WORLD
After lunch, we drove to Camping World to pick up the promised donations.  The manager had a grocery cart full of items.  He gave us 500 plastic bags (for the welcome or goody bags) 31 foam cooler cups, 31 Woodalls bags (material) 8- 1.2 ltr. cooler thermos, and a camping chair with a lift up tray.  We were so surprised.  That will help our auction for the HRRVC Scholarship fund.  On the way there the  farmers were cutting fields of wheat; the  fields were such a beautiful golden color.

At 5:00 pm we drove to Zirbel's garage to meet Betsy as she was leaving her car for repair and then from there she drove our car to the airport to be with the family to welcome home Alex.  Alex has been at ROTC Air Force camp since June 6th, in Alabama and Mississippi.    He was an instructor this year and had a platoon of 25 cadets.

ALEX: HE'S HOME!

HUGS & KISSES

HE IS VERY TIRED-UP AT 4:00 AM!

AT THEIR HOUSE: ROCKY, ERIC & BETSY

ALEX & HIS FRIEND JAY.

He did not wear his uniform home this time, I guess enough is enough!  Next year he has earned a spot to go to flight school.  He has wanted to be a pilot since he was 8 years old.  He took several flying lessons before he could drive a car!  In August he has to go to Ohio to an air force base for 3 day physical and pass before his dreams come true!   We all drove to our son's house for pizza & wings and dessert.  Alex showed us his photos, earned badges and Commemorative  coin.   We are so proud of him.  Once home we let the dog out and then headed for bed.  It was a full day for us old farts!
FRIDAY:
I'm having my coffee on the porch; and there goes the farmer in the back field planting something.  We thought it was planted last week but yesterday two tractors were out there fitting the ground-dust blowing everywhere again.  Must be a quick crop or it's winter wheat as it's so late.
I did several things on the computer and then I printed many photos that I wanted done.
My friend, MO, came over and we spent the afternoon in the pool!  The water was 86o and you could just walk right in with no shivers.  Beautifoool!
Betsy picked up Bob and they drove to Zirbel's to pick up Betsy's car.

SATURDAY:
Late start to the day as I didn't get to sleep until wee hours this morning.  Wonder if the moon has anything to do with my sleepless nights?  Once I got moving, I cleaned like a house on fire!   Bob wanted to go over to the casino as we had to activate our name cards today,  in order to be in on the drawing for the big Harley motorcycle.  So we did that and then came home to swim.  We picked up some Clor's chicken bar b que for our supper.  The drawing is tonight at 10:00 pm and you have to be present to win.  So we will go out about 9:30 pm (like the kids do)  and see if we can get in the casino to watch.  Notice I don't have much hope of winning.  Sure didn't win anything on the machines this afternoon, after all their in the business to make money.
We arrived at the Downs and they had just called names for the cash give away.   So we walked around until we found machines to sit at and play.  It was very crowded!  Some lady won $1185.63 on the machine two down from Bob.  There was hooting and hollering excitement.   I finally won $65.00 but between the two of us, we were still in the hole!   When the drawing for the motorcycle was announced we went up front to watch.  Three names were called before someone was present to claim it.  It just wasn't meant to be for us.  We came home and ate a Buster Bar!
SUNDAY:
My day was spent getting ready and attending a Bridal Shower for a granddaughter of a very good friend.  It was held in a park building, no air conditioning.  Everything was very nice, the attendants put alot of work into it but I couldn't help thinking about going home to swim.

That's it for this week.  Thanks for clicking in.  Have a good week making memories!

AR-GYS & NINJA

MONDAY:
A busy day, trying to stay on schedule, even thou it was a holiday.  I put the washing thru while working on computer.  Bob and Betsy put the finishing touches on the Inland sign.

It's ready for pick up!  Oops, my flash blurred some printing.
Betsy had ordered the logo & printing and all they had to do was position it and stick it on the laminate.  It was windy and a bit cool all day, not swimming weather.  I finished another book.  Around 10:00, we watched the fire works from the baseball stadium on the back porch.
TUESDAY:
My day started with cooking! We expected some old camping friends for lunch on Wednesday so I dug right in making a pasta salad, baked beans, and fried green peppers & onions to go with sausage.  Bob cleaned the pool and then mowed the back lawn.  He was frustrated with the mower as it would go a bit and quit!  He cleaned the spark plug and air filter and then it ran good.  The day flew by.  The men came to pick up the Inland sign that Bob refurbished, and after we went in the pool to relax a bit.  We had our 4:00 o'clock coffee and then fought over who would shower first.  (Wait a minute, there is two showers now!)  That evening we went to Lockport for the wake of Mr. Bundrock.  Mr. B. was very well known.  The reception line went out of the building and down the sidewalk.  (SIL)Rocco found me a sitting area, while Betsy stood in line for over an hour.
WEDNESDAY:
Bob called me early, "get up, it's party day."   I still wanted to cut some fruit up and finish bringing all the food and utensils to the garage.   We were hosting a bar b que for our old friends, THE AR-GYS!  (Alvuts, Rindo, - Gervase, Yasses, and Smarts)  The name was made up at one of our camping gatherings. As our children grew and married the name was changed to THE AR-GUYS & COMPANY.  As they had children the name was changed to THE AR-GYS & COMPANY 11. (2) We camped together for many years. We had t-shirts, jackets and a banner.

THE AR-GYS BANNER.
At the last minute, I remember that the banner was in my cedar chest, so I dug it out and told Bob to put it up on the flag pole.  That was a hit!  Everyone noticed it and we all started reminiscing about the good old times.  Sprinkles started so we put tables in the garage for the meal.
BOB, ED, SAM AND BILL.  BARB, FREIDA, ANN AND MICKEY. CLARENCE COULDN'T MAKE IT DUE TO A HEALTH PROBLEM.
We all had such a wonderful time visiting that it was 4:15 when they decided it was time to leave.  The guys had missed their nappies!  It rained as they went to their cars, a few sprinkles. Later on the news, a severe wind & rain storm for our area had been posted.  Glad it passed us by. We decided to watch the movie "TRUE GRIT" and we all decided that we were glad we hadn't paid $8.00 a piece to see it.
THURSDAY:
I started  by emptying the dishwasher of all the picnic dishes from yesterday.  The crock pots and ice bucket was clean and just needed to go back into the cupboards.
We went to Eastern Hills shopping in the afternoon.
FRIDAY:
I was up during the night about 2:30 am; as my legs were bothering me.  I took some ibuprofen and put Blue Ice on my knees and read a book until I finished it.  Then I slept in till 9:30am.  Somewhere around 11:00am we went downtown.  The dry cleaners was closed for vacation, nuts!  We stopped at the Batavia Downs to pick up the donations they had ready for us.  120-$5.00 coupons for free play to put in the Goody Bags at the rally in September.  From there we went to the Farmers Market and picked up some peas, squash and bread.
Do it all in one trip-that's us!  Then to Penney's as Bob wanted to return a shirt.  Then to Herrington's for sweet corn.  Home for lunch and Bob was pooped!   He took a nap and I went out to the pool.

THESE SHRUBS HAVE VERY SHARP NEEDLES!
I ended up trimming the 4 shrubs on the house side of pool.  It wasn't too hot with all the clouds so I dipped but did not swim.
In the news tonight, the headlines were about a man falling to his death off the Superman rollercoaster at Darien Lake Theme Park.  He was a veteran who served two tours of Iraq.  Real shame. The ride is all closed for inspection.

SATURDAY:
Another bright, sunny day.  David & Donna stopped in early so David could use Bob's saw to trim the new closet doors of Alex's room.  They brought donut holes so we had coffee.  Betsy and I went a couple places down town before lunch.  We spent the afternoon in the pool.  We are both sun burned!

SUNDAY:
Betsy headed off for the grocery store.  She had a craving for raisin bread so she need to get those ingredients plus pick up stuff for lunch.  Bob polished parts of the motor home.  I did a couple of e-mails and folded some clothes to put away.  We kept busy while waiting for David, Donna and Eric to come over and show us Eric's new Ninja!

ERIC'S NEW NINJA BIKE!

This is the second summer that Eric has worked 10 hour days for a landscaping company.  His job is mowing lawns unless something else comes up.  Eric is our youngest grandchild, he will be 19 in a couple months.

LIME GREEN, NINJA 250CC, 1 GEAR DOWN, 4 GEARS UP, HYDRAULIC BRAKES, 40-50 M. PER GAL.

THIS IS ERIC, WITH HIS MOOSE A PALOOSA SHIRT FROM UTICA COLLEGE.

While everyone was here we had a pool party and a picnic.

A COOKOUT LUNCHEON!

COOL DOWN!

DAVID POLISHING OUT A SCRATCH!  CAN'T HAVE THAT!

What a wonderful day.  Really it's been a wonderful week!  Betsy's raisin bread turned out very dense and heavy.  She says, "we will throw that recipe away!"

I never thought I'd say this but we do need rain.  Maybe there is some coming for our area; in the mean  time I guess I'll post this and go water the flowers again.

Everyone have a good week.  Thanks for clicking in.

4th of July weekend!

MONDAY:
I wonder if it will be a blah week after all the excitement of attending Ride For Roswell.
I worked on the computer all day Monday getting out the camping newsletter; along with doing the washing.
Bob had agreed to refurbish a sign for the company that Betsy works for and the men delivered it today.  It's an outdoor sign and it is huge!

This sign needs fixing!

Bob fixing a sign for Inland Vacuum.

TUESDAY:
After checking the newsletter for typos, we sent it to the Web Master for posting and prepared the snail mail.  I dropped the envelopes off on my way to the Dr's for my annual physical.  Now I have to follow thru with all the directions: blood work to check cholesterol, Bone Density test, Mammogram, and exray of my knees.
WEDNESDAY:
Borg Ide Imaging called; they had cancellations and wanted me to come in today rather than tomorrow if I received the message.  So off we went to Rochester and had the knees exrayed. Old age is not for Sissy's!  They couldn't work the rest of my tests in so I have to call for appointments for a Mammogram and Bone Density tests.  I had a $10.00 coupon for Penney's so after we went there.  They have big sales this weekend.  I needed a Bridal Shower gift so we went to  Bed & Bath to shop too.
THURSDAY:

We had hair cut appointments today.  After we stopped at Camping World to see if they had our brochures, bags and what ever donations  ready for pickup for the Region 1/New York State Rally.  The manager was in a meeting.  That will be another call back.

New sealer.  We can't drive on it for 2 days.
We came home for lunch and our driveway was all sealed with black top sealer.  One of our neighbor's is a school teacher and he runs the black top sealer business in the summer; he tracks the year when we need it done and calls us.   We had a couple other errands in town so we stopped at Oliver's Candies, and Batavia Downs for donations.  Both gave us promises.   While at Oliver's; I purchased a big bag of hard candy to send out for the New York State HRRVC Scholarship  Basket.  The 47th Holiday Rambler International Rally is in DuQuion, Ill., in a couple weeks, and every State will have a basket to raffle for the fund.
FRIDAY:
We spent most of the day outside.  I pulled weeds and watered my plants, in between dips in the pool.

Black Bear in our area.  Photo posted by "Batavian News"  personnel.
In the evening as I was reading the news there was an interesting article in the Batavian.  A black bear was photographed at Sloat's Tire Shop which is a little less than a mile down the road from us.  It was also photographed at Genesee Community College.  Now that's a surprise.  Sightings has been announced on TV in Rochester and Buffalo.  Must be the bear population is on the increase or they are moving for food.
SATURDAY:
Early this morning, an email came in from Christianna, stating that Mr. Bill Bundrock had passed away in the early morning.  He was just honored at a "Believe In Bill" dinner and he participated in  Relay for Life in Lockport.  We were sorry to hear that he lost his battle.
Bill's daughter, Tammy, planned the fund dinner for Annalynn last year.
Betsy and I went to Rochester shopping for outfits for the wedding coming up.  I found a couple possibilities.  Macy's and Penney's were so hot, no air conditioning, it was miserable to try on clothes.  They must be saving energy!  We went to Applebee's for lunch and to cool down.  When we got home it was still warm and muggy; I changed into my swimsuit and jumped in the pool.
SUNDAY:
We went to BJ's and Top's for groceries.  Then we hung out by the pool and picked up a little tan.  A beautiful day.

Hope you all have a happy 4th of July.  Tomorrow night fire works will be at the baseball stadium so we will just sit on the back porch and watch them.
