MONDAY: VETERAN'S DAY.
Many postings on Face Book of Veterans.  The President laid a wreath for the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.  No Mail.  Will Troy Polamalu of the Steeler's really cut his hair in honor of vets?  God BLESS THEM ALL.

Today is washing day.  I ran between the machines and my craft room.  I remember the days of the old wringer washer, helping Mom, you stand there and the whole day is washing.

ABOUT MID MORNING, THIS PHOTO CAME IN FROM OUR SON, DAVID.  HE WAS ENTERTAINING CUSTOMERS AND LANDED THIS BIG BROWN TROUT.  WHAT A WHOPPER!
In the craft room, I worked on a couple scrap pages before I loose the pictures again.  I really didn't loose them, but I put them on piles and never get them done.  I've had these for a year of so.

MY NEPHEW'S HORSES
I THINK HE HAS SIX NOW.
HOSS WAS ONLY FOUR MONTHS OLD
WHEN DONNIE BROUGHT HIM HOME.

I started sorting another box of left over pulls for an album of one of the grand kids.  I looked out the window and saw snow coming down.

TUESDAY:
We just wore ourselves out today.  We went to visit with the supplemental insurance vendors again at the Office For The Aging, the bank, and Sherwin Williams.    Then to lunch at the Polka Dot, we were in the mood for a good cheeseburger and fries.

THE POLKA DOT HAS BEEN HERE FOR YEARS.  SEE THE OLD CHAIR BACK AND DRINKS SERVED IN MUGS.   THE GRILL IS RIGHT BEHIND THE COUNTER AND IT SMELLS SO GOOD IN THERE.
Bob has pulled the molding off the door frame to the garage door.  He is sanding down the scratches of all the dog scratchings and then will stain and varnish them.

I made chocolate chip cookies when we got home.  It's been kinda a dry run here, I haven't baked since the apple pie, two weekends ago.   I made supper and just kinda flopped around the rest of the evening.

WEDNESDAY:
Early this morning was up setting!  I have been telling Bob that we need to get someone to trim our red maple tree in the front yard before the county comes threw with there trimming trucks and ruin the tree.  They just chop! The limbs were touching the wires.  Too late, here come the trucks.

HALF THE TREE IS GONE!

Today, my friends, Mo and Diane, treated me to lunch for my birthday. (next week)  We decided to try a place that opened this summer called Sweet Ecstasy; it's a Bakery, Bistro and Banquet place.  Fresh bread every Friday!  The entrance is on Bank Street, across from Bank of America, and it's in the old Batavia Club Building.
The baked goods are in the entrance room, in an old display unit.  The interior is old and the owners followed that theme with decorations.  Old tables and chairs, bent old silver forks and spoons were used for napkin rings.  Dried flowers and pumpkins adorned the fire place.
The menu is limited to breakfast and lunch, with baked items for dessert. The menu  closes at 2 pm., after that it's just coffee and dessert.   They had a good lunch crowd so it was really noisy in there.    Our food was delicious!  We all choose the croissant with chicken salad/cranberries.  I'd go again!

HUGE SANDWICH!
At home, I had beef in the crock pot for Stroganoff.  I was so full I didn't want to fix supper.  So I read a book a little.  Then I made a salad and fixed the noodles.  If I make it in a pan, I usually take the pan off the heat before adding the sour cream but I thought I'd try it in the crock...well, it curdled-to hot!  But the family was delighted with a hot meal and I felt like a super Mom.

THURSDAY:
The morning whizzed by.  After lunch I made another recipe of chocolate chip cookies to take to GS Eric when we go on Saturday.  I downloaded the recipe from the restaurant web site of the Sweet Ecstasy.  It makes more cookies than the recipe on the chocolate chip bag.

(GS) ALEX
FLYING UP!
VANCE AIRFORCE BASE, ENID OK.

We received word and this picture today that grandson, Alex, has completed his training on the T-6A and  will now begin training on the T-1A Jayhawk.

Alex is so excited!  This was his first choice instead of cargo planes, of course, his grades and previous training was a prerequisite!  Isn't this plane beautiful!  More gas, more speed, longer distances.  Alex maybe flying across the United States, buzzing over our house!
By supper time, I was so tired I really didn't want to cook.  So I tried the chicken fingers on the back of the Bisquick box again.  That's quick and easy.  Not much ambition after supper so I watched a "dumb" movie on TV.

FRIDAY:
A nice warm day, a raincoat was sufficient.  Most of the snow is gone.  We spent the day in Rochester as I had a doctor's appointment.   After lunch we shopped around a couple stores.  We need a couple $7.00 gifts for our camper Christmas party so we hunted for them plus things for the family.  We made a couple returns also.

Supper was warm ups.  We are going to the Utica football game tomorrow with David & Donna and they will be here early so we got our warm clothes ready.

We watched a little TV and both started reading.

 SATURDAY:
We were gone from 8:30 am - 8:30 pm today.  David & Donna were here bright and early and we shoved off.  Most of the ride, Eric was texting us, "where are you now?"  He was anxious for us to arrive in time to go on the football field while he was recognized as a senior football player.

SENIOR GAME
THE LAST GAME AT UTICA
ERIC #4

The weather was beautiful, we were very comfortable in the stands.  It was a long game, as Utica action was best in the last quarter.  They lost!

DURING THE GAME, THIS BIG CARGO PLANE WAS CIRCLING OVER THE AREA.  IT MUST BE IN TRAINING FROM THE BASE AT ROME, NY, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS CLOSED.

After the game we went to Olive Garden for supper.  I had the eggplant parmigiana which is always delicious.

PLENTY TO SHARE

The family surprised me with birthday cards, (lots of lottery tickets enclosed) and they had asked the waitress to bring a piece of cheesecake with a candle for me.  I'm sure glad they didn't try to have 76 candles on it!
RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE.  DELICIOUS!

Departing, Donna and David loaded up Eric's car with the groceries they had brought and the cookies I had brought him.  We left in the dark, but the moon came up and it was huge.  A full moon!

 SUNDAY:
We had good intentions for today, but it ended up as a recoup day.  A trip to the grocery store for some necessities and dinner in the crock pot, then we settled down to watch the Buffalo Bill's game.  Ha, I made it thru the first half of the game, guess I covered up to much an the warmth induced sleep.

If ever, I quit Blogging, I want you to know the reason could be because sometimes I get a little upset and porky working with Bob.  He handles all the editing and mails the photos to my computer in Dropbox.  That is a big help.  BUT we fight over the photos to put in , he gets hurt if I don't want to use them all in the Blog.   Such a trivial item.  True Love Never Runs Smooth!

Hope you have had a good week and my thanks for dropping in.
