DIFFERENT LAP TOP, MAC KENZIE CHILDS BARN SALE

MONDAY:

I'm among the elite!  I can sit and type in the rec room with my feet up on the easy chair.  Betsy offered the Centrino lap top to me that Sarah had for college.  Sarah has moved on to an Apple machine.  Woo hoo, this is the Cat's meow!  Betsy had to charge it up all day Sunday as it hasn't been used in two years.
I have to learn how to use this keyboard; I miss my old keyboard.  Right now I can't figure out how to highlight the typing to enlarge the type...little things.

I've had a bummer day!  Last night after supper, I became so sick.  Stomach cramps!  My brain ran away with me; what to heck is this?  I wondered all kinds of illnesses, true hypo talking at ya!  It's unusual for me to be uncomfortable.  I had another of my insomniac nights due to the circumstances, then slept till 10:30.  So today I just kinda bounced around from one little detail to the next to keep my mind busy.   I did a small washing, wrapped gifts, decorated a couple tags for gifts and then went for a nap.
Bob had filled in the hole under the fence, used the grass trimmer all around, painted some boards after sanding them; then he wonders why he is tired.  He went for a swim to cool off a couple times.
TUESDAY:
OH, THIS IS TUESDAY!  I was mixed up for awhile, thinking it was Wednesday.  Some days are better than others!  I was convinced, even told Bob he was wrong-it's Wednesday.  He whipped out his phone and proved it to me.  I must be just excited for Thursday to come.  Thursday is the start of the MacKenzie Child's Barn Sale.  We have more people going this year so it should be more fun.  I can't wait to see their plan of attack to get the bargains.

We have been to town already.  We needed milk.  The trip is always extended as long as we are out,   Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Tops for gas, and Rite Aide.  I picked up a few health bars for the Barn Sale Trip because we won't eat on schedule.  Too busy shopping!  The skies grew black and ugly looking and then it poured.  We were in between the store and car.

IN AREA WHERE DICK'S WAS
Just before supper Bob started the lawn mowing since we filled the gas containers at Tops.  We had .80 off per gallon with all the shopping points.  I pulled a few more weeds.

WEDNESDAY:
It's cooler today.  Feels good for a change, a good day for working outside.  So out I went.  I transplanted a few more of my perennials seedlings, and then Bob offered to help plant.  We had a corner area along the fence to plant so they wouldn't hit the fence with the mower.   We then pulled weeds along the new grass seed area.  We expected the new grass to be higher by now but it's not so the weeds looked horrible.
After lunch I took a shower and put the muddy clothes in the washer.  I checked a few things on computer and couldn't keep my eyes open....so I picked up a blanket an took a nap.

Betsy and I worked out a few more plans for tomorrow's trip to MacKenzie Child's Barn Sale.  MacKenzie Child's is known for hand painted ceramics and enamel ware.  Beautiful home deco items.

THURSDAY:

At 5:00a.m., we are raring to go.  In the car by 6:00a.m. (how did we do that?)  We picked Annalynn up at her apartment in Rochester at 6:40 and headed for the thruway.

ANNALYNN HAS HER PLASTIC SHOPPING BAG READY.
Driving along we passed Debbie and her car load-Kathy, Sandy and Mary, all newbies to the event.

Everyone pulled in the rest area with the Starbucks store.  One for the road!

Arriving at MacKenzie Childs about 8:00 a.m., there must have been a thousand cars parked already. We unloaded, grabbed our plastic shopping bags (in case of rain as the paper bags get ruined) shared our health bars, raisins boxes, and peanut butter crackers.  We headed for the side walk and joined the waiting line.  I went thru the gift shop with Kathy, Sandy and Mary, while Betsy, Annalynn and Debbie held our place in line.

As I was departing the gift shop, up walks some of Rocco's relatives; Suzanne, Donna, Linda and Margie.  They later joined the waiting line with our girls.

SANDY, KATHY, MARY, & LINDA
BETSY, DONNA, DEBBIE, MARGIE AND SUZANNE
Our wait was over two and a half hours!  I was comfortable sitting in a near by gazebo and joined the line when the girls were close.  About fifty people were allowed entry every half hour.  Closer to the entrance we received our arm bracelets and paper shopping bags.  This year they said we could use the arm bracelet's for reentry without the line waiting; sure go spend more money.  Ha!

Down came the cord barrier and about fifty people scurried out to the shopping area.  CHARGE!!!!
Debbie, Betsy and I went to the tent to wait for a shopping cart.  Debbie said, "this is awesome "  The rest headed for the enamel barn.  Annalynn took Betsy's list for people from work and brother's wishes.  In the barn (50% off) there is shelving, loaded with every enamel product they make.  It's crowded, unbelievable.  In the tent is all ceramic, Christmas, furniture, misc. items.

Bob had driven Betsy's car to Bass Pro Shop nearby.

NEW REEL!
His gift certificate was burning a hole in his pocket.  He shopped there for two hours.  Returning he called us to see if we were ready for pick up.  Ha, we had just started our shopping.  He drove around the farm, checking out the blacktop parking lot so we could bring the motor home next trip on the night before the event.

SOMEONE ELSE PARKED ON BLACK TOP

We shopped and shopped.  There was a cloud burst and water was running in between the tents like a stream but everyone kept right on shopping.
Some where around 1:30-2:00, everyone was munching on the crackers etc., we all met and headed for the check out.  They have wooden corrals built to follow with at least 50 check out cash registers at the end.  They used walkie talkies to direct customers to an open one.  Unreal -all the planning stages for this event.
Bob picked us up.  We then went for the tour of the old farm house.  The tour was free this year.

BOB JOINED US THIS TIME.
ORIGINAL FARM HOUSE

The house has been up dated since my trip there several years ago.  It was beautiful then, and more beautiful now.  Everyone should see the inside, plan a day trip!

HOW DO YOU SUPPOSE THIS GOOSE WAS USED?
We drove downtown for lunch.  We checked out the Aurora Inn but their menu didn't turn anyone on.  We ended up at Fargo's Bar & Grill across the street.  I'd call it a cute little gin mill, but today it's probably called a Pub, they had delicious food.

OUTDOOR SEATING

I slept most of the way back to Rochester.  Betsy drove to another Starbucks and then Annalynn directed us on a drive past the home which they have a purchase offer presented on.  Big 2 story home, very nice in a very nice clean neighbor hood.
Back at home, need I tell you - couch potatoes!

FRIDAY:
Working on the Blog as it's even cooler today.

We are not ambitious today!  We both had naps.
When Betsy came home from work, we looked at all our purchases from the barn sale.  Oh, what fun.  She says, she's not going again next year as it's to hard at work after taking a day off.  So I told her the answer to that is take Friday off too.

SATURDAY:
Bob and Betsy were out about doing their own things when I got up.  I had coffee and checked my phone for the latest what ever.  I put a rub on some spareribs and put them in the crock pot to cook.
I tried my new dish purchase in the oven...it fits with a 1/4" to spare on each side.  Yeah!

HAND PAINTED CERAMIC

Then I saw how dirty my oven is - bad.  So start the day off scrubbing.  I did the refrig too.  My arms are not as strong as they used to be; after a couple hours, I was willing to let the parts of the oven I hadn't cleaned yet go as I was tired and my feet hurt.  Enter Bob to the rescue!  He found some spray and it's sprayed good.
I thought of a job where I could sit maybe an hour or so.  I need filing room downstairs.  So I cleaned out the miscellaneous folder in the file cabinet.  Then I pulled a few folders out of the warranty file drawer as the bikes are gone in the garage sale.

SUNDAY:
Bob and David went fishing at Godfrey's pond while the girls attended a gala breakfast baby shower for my friend Fredia's grandson's wife-Erin.  Gees, that's a mouth full.  It was held at Terry Hills Restaurant and Golf Course which was busy with golfers.  The tables were decorated with lavender napkins and a beautiful deep purple potted plant.  Very pretty and my favorite colors.

HOW CUTE!

We enjoyed visiting with all the out of towners.

Once home, we went thru Alex's wedding pictures that Donna had brought to show us.  Donna helped me pic some out for development to make a scrap book.  David pushed buttons to send them off to Wal-Mart.

That's our week.  Thanks for stopping in and hope you have a good week too.    Plan on coming to the Barn Sale next year-give me a call!

  1. Boy I would be nervous if Bonnie went to that sale! New laptop, I thought you took the leap to Apple. Try Ctrl + to make your type larger. Have a good week.
