SPRING SNOW STORM FIZZELS!

MONDAY:
Well, so far the big predicted snow storm hasn't materialized, maybe an inch or so. The storm warnings for Buffalo are cancelled already.   Just alot of hype for our area.  South of us was not so lucky.  But bless them for trying to warn us.
Once again it's Monday and it's mid afternoon already.  I have one more load of washing and drying to do , plus I have paid bills already.  Paying bills is always a challenge; figuring out where I want to give up the money.  No, I don't hoard every penny but the next thing to it!    What a relief, the last charges for physical therapy are in and paid.  Hallelujah!

It's a chicken day again...(Oh, do I have to make chicken? I hate to touch it.  I keep a pair of rubber gloves under the kitchen sink to wear so I don't have to feel it.  Wearing them helps to get a grip to pull the skin and fat off too.)  I have a new recipe for Chicken Tenders that I want to try.  They are baked so maybe not to bad for our Cholesterol.  I hope they are as good as the ones we buy at Tully's,  that would be so nice.

TUESDAY:

The first thing I did this morning was to look out the windows to see if we had more snow.  Maybe a little, it's hard to tell how much when it rains and melts it at the same time.  Nope not much new snow out there.  The following photo is cookies not snowballs!  Ha!

ALMOND SNOWBALLS
I spent most of the day baking cookies again.  The cookies that we had make on Saturday were not done in the middle.  When I opened one and saw that, I was sick!  All the ingredients and those macadamia nuts wasted.  I tell you; my oven is a pain in the kister.  Today I made two sizes of cookies and tried the temp out...neither were done in the middle.  So I had to adjust the temp and baking time several times.  Very challenging!

Yesterday's chicken finger dinner was okay, not as good as expected.  We like it fried much better.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

WEDNESDAY:
This morning, Bob checked out the movie schedules on line and we planned around it.  The first afternoon show seemed to fit; so we were off to Eastern Hills area to see Chimpanzee, another Disney Film.  It was so cute!  Bob said that he enjoyed the time lapsed photography.  I was afraid it would be a boring documentary but they created a story and it moved right along.  But keep in mind if going; how much grooming, searching for food, sleeping, Territorial fights, etc. can a Chimpanzee change.

After we went for lunch at DQ and then shopping to  Orvitz, Bon-Ton, Penny's and Jo Ann Fabrics.  Lots of looking; I did find a baby gift.

Arrived home around 5.  Pooped!  Cereal for supper again.

Photos arrived from the grandchildren in Boston.

SARAH & CHRISTIANNA IN BOSTON AT BRIDAL SHOP

CHRISTIANNA'S BRIDAL GOWN; SHE IS HEADING HOME NOW!

DEBBIE @ PAUL REVERE STATUE

THURSDAY:
Today's mission was to go see my older friend, Gen.  She was moved out of the hospital last Friday to Orchard Manor NH in Medina.  She is very upset and wants to go home.  We visited for over an hour and I got the feeling she is refusing to participate in any activities because she doesn't like it there.  So heart breaking.

While in Medina, we went to the Bridal shop and picked up Sarah's bridesmaid gown at Blissettes' for Christianna's wedding.  The lady steam pressed it for us before packing it.

Then Bob wanted to drive further North to the fishing store.  It was only 3:00 pm so I said okay.  So he drove Route 31 to route 98 and then North.  He was in that fishing store for an hour and didn't buy a thing!  When he came out, I was already in the driver's seat and drove straight home...enough for me.  Besides we had to think of the dog as we were gone all day.
I made a quick pot of goulash for supper and now I'm Blogging!  As soon as my Blog is up to date, I will prop my legs up and read a book.
FRIDAY:

I guess I had hangover from two days of running all over the country.  I sure didn't have any ambition.  Bob either, he didn't get up until after ten o'clock.  So I posted cash receipts again, keeping the house quite.

All afternoon I picked out photos to put in my Kodak Easy Share.  It was a gift for Christmas and I wanted it to put on the table that covers the steering wheel of the motor home, once we are set up.  Bob set the Creative memories program up and put in a flash stick to save them in a separate album.  I had the photos all in order by grandchild with titles for each photo, some dates.   When Bob put them into the Easy Share all the photos scattered and none of the titles showed.  What to heck?  I was upset, after all that work.   My knee was giving me fits, guess I sat to long.  Anyway, I was so annoyed that I gave up and Bob putzed with it the rest of the night.  I grabbed a book and finished it.

Speaking of photos, this one is funny!

SATURDAY:
Betsy and Bob are preparing to go to Lockport.  The girls are meeting to put cookies on trays for Christianna's shower tomorrow.  Bob is going to install the bath room light at Christianna's house.  I should have a nice quite day.

SUNDAY:
Today is the wedding shower for Christianna.  Betsy and I woke up about 5:00am to call Sarah in Rhode Island to make sure she got up and on the airplane in time to come to Buffalo.

Betsy drove me to David and Donna's for the ride to country club while she went to airport to wait for Sarah.  Arriving at the CC the people were busy setting up table numbers, flowers, favors, & gifts etc.  Everything thing was beautiful, food was good, and Christianna received beautiful gifts.  It was a beautiful event.  After we left for the airport for Sarah's and Julie's return trip east.  Home and ready for the couch!

Since it's so late, if any photos of the shower come in, I will post them tomorrow.

Another week will be looking at us tomorrow; hope it's a good one.  Thanks for clicking in.

Time @ Home! This & That.

MONDAY:

What a beautiful day, the sky is blue and pretty, compared to yesterday's gloomy, dark, hanging over head, threatening weather.  It would be best if I get something going, rather than sitting and looking at it.  Ha.

Here is some of the updates of the De Voe house project from Sunday.
NEW FLOORING GOING DOWN.  ROCKY, ANTHONY, CHRISTIANNA AND ROCCO  BUSY CREW!

LIVING ROOM FLOORING.  JOE'S BROTHER ANTHONY HARD AT WORK.  HE IS THE NEW DADDY!

ALL NEW  DOORS
YEP JOE, LOOKING GOOD!

TUESDAY:

I had a bag of clothes to take to the church and library books to return so I left early before meeting my friends, Mo & Diane, for lunch.  The word is out, I'm available for lunch now!  We had a great chat, exchanged reading material and they went on to see our older friend, Gen at the hospital.  I'll go another time as Gen's room is so small.

Back home, I visited with Bob.  (He always wants to know what we talked about at lunch)  Then I started supper.  I made a tossed salad.  I had left over chicken from Sunday so I made gravy, combined the chicken with the gravy to pour over the baked Puff Pastry Tarts.  While the oven was going, I cut up a head of cauliflower, tossed it lightly in oil and put it on a cookie sheet to bake.  Dinner was faboulous!!!!!!!

Biggest Loser was on tonight so I watched that while reading a new book.

WEDNESDAY:
We were up early but it always takes us so long to get ready to go some place.  Why?   Till we eat our "good" breakfast, make sure the dog has water in her dish, gather up the coupons, the returns  and one must check the e-mails before leaving etc., etc.   Bob wanted to go to Gander Mountain store to exchange his wader boots for a larger size.  We are backing out of the driveway and he is asking which way should we go-Buffalo or Rochester?  I don't know.  Maybe the Rochester store will have the size I need.  Okay, Bob.  We head to Rochester.  That store did have the size 13's.  Yep, 13's.   Bob tried the 14's and they were way to large.   Mama bear, papa bear and baby bear, what works best?  I walked the whole big store and it's huge...for exercise and he still wasn't ready to go.  So I sat in the rocking chair at the store entrance.  I was the greeter as people entered.  Just kidding!
Bob still had a gift card from 2010 for IHOP restaurant so we went there for lunch and to use up the card.  Boy, that place is tempting, we ate way to much.
After we hit Bed, Bath & Beyond and then Sears.  Last week, as I was trying to make bows for some packages, I couldn't find a decent pair of needle nose pliers or the snipping ones.  I had all that and more when we made crafts to sell.  Someone has worked them into their supply or something.  So at Sears, I picked out one of each.  You can't work without the right tools.  Ahe?
We were still very full when we got home so I cancelled the stuffed peppers I was going to make and suggested cereal!

BOB PAINTING THE RUSTY AREAS OF DISH WASHER RACK

Our dishwasher is 17 years old and the bottom rack was all rusty.  Bob bought some paint to see if we can stretch the life of it longer.

THURSDAY:

I was up about 8:30 but never got dressed till after my shower at 11:30am.  Just a nice relaxing morning and a day to myself.  I putzed around and when ready to shower the Milkman was in there so I had to wait.  Never know there is two showers in this house.

I decided to make cookies.  I always make chocolate chip so tried to find a new flavor and ended up making a sweet peanut cookie.  I followed the instructions-one rounded teaspoon per cookie.  They were so small that I changed to a tablespoon instead.  They are delicious but they don't look good.  Maybe next time I will chop the peanuts so they are easier to push down.

In the afternoon, we went over to Cassie's to see how her garage sale was going.  She was real pleased since it was a nice day and the turnout was great.  She had sold alot of her stuff.

I started supper early to make the new stuffed pepper recipe.  It's sorta a Mexican dish.  There's sweet corn, rice, chilles, cumin, cheese and green onions in it.  I had set a 1/2 cup of cheese to the side to put on top to brown and when I went to do it; I couldn't find the dish of cheese.  Neither one of us could remember if we threw it out and washed the dish-old age!  It was very good and the family decided the recipe was a keeper!
FRIDAY:
I cleaned the house.  Bob sprayed the weeds in the yard.
After lunch, we went shopping to pick up Bob's new glasses.
I wanted to go to the movies to see Chimpanzee but I just didn't feel right so we came home and lounged around.
SATURDAY:
It's cold and raining, good day to stay inside.
Betsy and I baked cookies today for Christianna's bridal  shower next week.  The recipe I choose was called Bon-Bon's.  A sugar dough with a treat inside.  We needed 6 dozen.  It was a small recipe so I had to make it up 6 times.   After we put icing on them.  When they have dried I will put them in containers to freeze them.

SUNDAY:

Things are changing on Face book and on this Blog.  Advancements ha!  I have trouble getting to the place to type and now I can't find a save button.  My Blogging days maybe ending.

Betsy and I made more cookies today.  After we finished decorating them, I thought they looked like little penguins.

OREO COOKIES WITH CREAM CHEESE COVERED IN CHOCOLATE.

No fishing or remodeling today.  So Bob spent the day putzing around in his garage.  He  worked on the lawn tractor changing the oil, cleaning the engine, installed deck washer and now he is waxing it.

Bob hasn't put the snow blower in storage yet and it's a good thing as the weather man says, " 4-8 inches" could come our way tonight thur Monday morning. Unreal!

Dyngus Day

MONDAY:
Happy Birthday Bob!  Now he is Boss until November when I have my day.  Just a little ditty that we started years ago, since our b-days are almost 6 months apart.  I let him believe he is Boss anyway.
I hurried around sorting the washing, getting out meat for supper and various jobs before going to PT.

Today is Dyngus Day.  (The day following Easter)  Buffalo has a full week's program with parades, polka bands, and food.  An old Polish tradition, boys sprinkle water on girls (flirt)  and tap the girls with Pussy willows.  On Easter Tuesday, the women return the favor.  In modern times, they both do the water & Pussy willows equally.  Don't you just wonder how many people can still do the polka dances?
When I was a teen, my brother would cart me and friend along to all the dance halls and we danced all night.  Square dances, several various polka dances, waltzes, jitterbugs etc.  We had the big full skirts, a short sleeved blouse and a square scarf ( in hideous florescent colors) which was tied around the neck.  Big fashion then.    However, you didn't leave the building, brother didn't care how much you were sweating, you sit inside and cool off.  It was a wonderful time.

I went down to the library today, in all that wind!  I wondered why all the books on the library web site are labeled as "Hold".  Out of 9 mystery pages on their site with 6-8 titles on each page, one book was available for selection last night.   It wasn't that way 2 years ago when I first received my e-reader.   As I approached the double doors, I could see the library was dark inside.  Apparently the wind caused a problem.  I was able to enter and walked around and picked out 3 books.  Then the lights came back on.  So I asked my question and their answer was high usage, so many people have readers now.  Plus they have to pay for each license to post the books.  I figured that but why don't they have more than one license?  (Must be budget)
Bob spent some of the day calling for a dash board switch for the motor home.  He talks so much his phone went dead and then he started in on mine.  The mechanics out in Elkhart told him the part number and to go downtown to the auto parts store to get it.  Holiday Rambler price $55.00, downtown  $15.00.  Fleece job!

I did a little more washing, laid down a bit, then made supper.  The spareribs turned out delicious.  Bob had the last piece of pineapple upside down cake that we brought back home from Debbie's yesterday.

ONE OF BOB'S B-DAY PRESENTS-LITE WEIGHT WADERS

TUESDAY:
The morning was real nice and sunny.  Along about lunch time, the sun went out and a nasty cold rain started.  Tomorrow snow is predicted again.  Rats!

I've had an odds and ends day.  Folding  clothes, ironing, get well cards, phone calls, just busy, busy,  busy.
My friend, MO, stopped for coffee.  She wondered if I had heard anything about our older friend, Gen.   Yes, that was one of the calls I had made this  morning.  Gen is still in the hospital, and the family was preparing paper work so Gen could go for rehab somewhere.  She wants to go home!

One of the library books that I picked up in the dark is a real page turner.  I can't wait to get back to it.  (Summer Session by Merry Jones)

Time for the Biggest Loser show.  I feel asleep during the show, now I have to google to see who was sent home.
WEDNESDAY:
I didn't accomplish much this morning; except getting ready to go to lunch with friends.
I was ready early so I went to Dollar General for some greeting cards.   I then picked up Barb and we drove to "Sporto's" or Sport of Kings.
There we waited for Freida.  We had a great time chit chatting for 3 hours!  The food was good too.  For once, former working associates didn't show up and tell us we were taking up their seats.  Boy, those not retired hate to see us out to lunch or in the grocery store during their after working hours.  I just never think about it, if I need groceries, I go.
I read some after I returned home.  Soon it was supper time.

THURSDAY:
Bob spent his afternoon yesterday washing windows upstairs so this morning I pushed a dust cloth and dust mop around to finish cleaning the upstairs.  It was dusty.  Lots of stuff to pick up and put away or throw out.  How that junk accumulates when your not looking.  Everybody just drops stuff!

Well, we are out of cooking supplies again!  So after my LAST physical therapy appointment today we will head out to the grocery story.  Maybe I can tease for another meal out...yeah!  Hate to cook!
The PT is over.  I've graduated and even received a T-shirt.  At last, my life is mine to schedule again.  We all shared hugs and thank you's and they told me to stop and visit.

When I got home, Bob was sharpening the lawn mower blades.  He wanted to finish up, shower and then go out to eat to celebrate.  Yeah!  We went to Le Roy to L. B. Grand spaghetti house.  I had the special; a huge prime rib/angel hair spaghetti and Bob had the veal parmigiana.  Our dinners were excellent.  On the way home, again we passed on ice cream as we were satisfied with the meals.  I remembered that I had the bed tore apart so we headed home inside of going for groceries.  There's always tomorrow, see how you act when retired!

Then I'm going to read.  Enough for today.
FRIDAY:
Sunny and nice but still cool.  By the time that I got up the morning was half gone.   We headed off for lunch and groceries.  On the way, we had a phone call from our camper friend, Bob J.  He was at Home Depot and was able to join us for lunch at Mickey D's.   He is replacing TV's in his motor home and he wanted to see how Bob had installed ours.  So I left them to go for the groceries and they came home to investigate.  When I arrived home, the guys were still talking in the driveway-RVer's love to talk!   I should have asked Bob J. (my mentor) why I'm having words in the Blog that are blue and underlined.  When we click on them, they bring up advertising.  Not sure I like that!
The groceries put away, I grabbed a chair to read before fixing supper.  I did real good in the store (my first trip alone) until the last few minutes then the knees started to ache.
In the evening, we heard that my beautician had a baby boy.  She was over her due date so I'll bet she is glad it's over.
Also, a photo came in displaying all the awards that our grandson Alex received during the Military Ball.

Congratulations Alex!

SATURDAY:
Yesterday was fun!  Debbie & Rocco and Annalynn picked us up to go to Geneseeo college as Annalynn was invited to give a speech for Relay For Life.  The students were doing the charity event and their money goal was $77,777,77 dollars.  It was held in the Athletic building within the ice rink.  The participants  covered  the floor with blankets, pillows, ipads, food etc.
Their all night walk was held upstairs in viewing balcony walk way which went around the room.  They had already earned $50,000.00.  Their theme was "Drown Cancer."
BANDS VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME. THIS GIRL HAD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.

On the drive home, Annalynn mentioned the next big event-'RIDE FOR ROSWELL"  and we need to start fund raising.  Annalynn wants to the ride starting at 6:00am from Roswell this year.

SUNDAY:

I want to finish and post before lunch as we are planning on going to Lockport.  At the De Voe home, Rocco is planning on installing the wood floor and there is still one light to hang.   I hope to help Debbie with the wedding invitations.

What a great week for us!   Hope you have a good one too!   Thanks for clicking in!

Easter Week

MONDAY:
Good morning.  We needed some grub in this house!  No bread, last of the milk, and salad fixings wiped out.  So off to BJ's and Tops for a little grocery shopping.

That was a workout, so after an afternoon nap I fixed a real good supper with all the new groceries.
Our local ice cream shop (Lickity Splits) opened today and we were going to go there after supper but everyone was satisfied after our meal.
We settled in for a boring night of TV.

TUESDAY:
We had breakfast, then a shower and headed off to physical therapy.  It was a tough one; Darryl pushed down on my knee and it hurt!  Still!  Couple spots still tender @ 9 weeks.
After lunch, I fixed an ice pack and watched public TV.  They had a story on about the lady who wrote "TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD."  That book has been in this house somewhere; I ought to find it and read it.

Bob picked up the mail and let me know that I had a bill from Borg Imaging for $920.00 for a date of service last June. The invoice said they had billed my insurance and no payment; please pay now.  Here we go again, doing a clerk's work.  I called our insurance, there wasn't a charge on my claim so they never received an invoice.  Called Borg; told them to resubmit with the correct address to bill.  Hope that's the end of that.

Bob went up to the Ford garage to pick up our Ford Escape.  He had their service men install the tow hitch.   He wasn't a happy camper when he spotted the safety chains/brackets that goes on the base plate in the trunk of the Escape.  After so many words; he said he wasn't leaving until they were installed correctly.  I don't know how much had to be disassembled but there on now.  Then Bob had to fight the additional labor costs.  "No way ho say!"  Another good campfire story!

Tuesday night everybody has a favorite TV show so we all scattered to a different set.
WEDNESDAY:
No appointments today so I worked on the computer.  I read a couple Blogs and then entered cash receipts into Quicken.  Finally it's working correctly!

We visited my older friend @ UMMC that afternoon.  She has had a cold which developed into pneumonia and she is dehydrated, then she took a hard fall and landed on her head which resulted in a horrible black eye.  Her family is talking nursing home now so she isn't living alone.  Sad.

Pizza hit the spot for supper.  I found the book To Kill a Mocking Bird so I started to read that.  It must be Sarah's copy as it is filled with notes within the printing, across the bottom and the sides.  It's kinda messy!

THURSDAY:
Mornin! Hurry up and get ready for a trip to Lockport for a hair appointment.  Then to lunch and up to Eastern Hills area for some shopping.

I didn't want to be gone all day as I had cut out cookies to bake for Easter dessert.  Bob had to get home to pack warm clothes as he has been invited (as his birthday present) on a charter fishing trip tomorrow with David & Alex.  They have to meet the captain at 7:00 am tomorrow so Bob went to their house for the night.  Whee!  I feel like I'm on vacation!
The cookies are baked and ready for my decorator.  (Betsy)

This has been a busy day so guess I'll go read a bit.
FRIDAY:

A great "girl day" for Betsy and I.  We went shopping at the Galleria Mall and had a great dinner at Olive Gardens.  The stores were packed with shoppers.  We had to wait for dressing rooms as there was so many people trying on clothes.

Back home, we both hit the couches!  I finished the book I've been reading.  (To Kill A Mockingbird)  Now I have to find something else to read.

Bob came home about 7:00pm.  He was sunburnt or wind burnt.  He had lots of fun and lots of stories to tell.

26" STEELHEAD!   WHAT A TREAT!

THEY BOTH WERE LUCKY!  DAVID'S CATCH.

GUIDE MARK, DAVID & ALEX

THE BIGGEST  ONE GOT AWAY!

SATURDAY:
Ha!  I woke up early ready to start cooking and changed my mind.  I went back to bed to watch the weather channel and fell back asleep.  I need the extra sleep.  Anyway, once up and showered and ready to roll; Betsy and I made Great Grandma Rindo's traditional dish called Sweet Cheese.  It's basically sweetened scrambled eggs, raisins and cinnamon.  You cook it until eggs curddle and then pour it into cheese cloth to drain.

SWEET CHEESE DRAINING

This has to be refrigerated and then sliced for serving.  We always have this and polish sausage with our hard boiled eggs after Easter Mass.

Next was the cookie decos.

BETSY DOES A PRETTY JOB!
After I made up one bag of melted chocolate mixed with chopped nuts, coconut and raisins.  Love that chocolate!

Bob worked most of the day on the new towing lights for the top of our Escape.   The old ones quit, again, probably 10 years old and owe us nothing.  Bob called us to step on the motor home brake, turn the turning lights on, off, etc.

SAFETY LIGHTS CHECK FOR TOWING

 SUNDAY:
Today I was up before the "lead bird". (The first one you hear in the morning while camping )  I started right in making the pineapple upside down cake for Bob's 75th birthday!  Then I prepared the green bean casserole to bake later.  I  fixed the sweet  cheese & sausage plate, then a cookie and chocolate plate.

Well, lots more  to work in today so I'm going to post this now.
Hope you all have a wonderful Happy Easter.

Temperture drop-20 degrees tonight

MONDAY:

The creature of habit that I am; I have wash day back on Monday!   I had the whole morning to take care of the wash, folding and mending.  After lunch I headed for physical therapy at 2:30 pm.  So that worked out nice.  The work out was in the pool so bet I'll be sore again.   Back home, I washed out my bathing suit and then laid down with the ice pack.  PT is reeving up my old knee.  That makes me anxious; will I have to go thru surgery for the other knee sooner than I thought?

Bob mowed the lawn for the first time this spring.  He just hated to start doing it as it won't end till the snow flies again.  He said, "the tractor came to a dead halt and he had to giggle a few wires to get it going again."

Betsy was home from work as I got up to start supper.  She wanted to go test drive a car that she is thinking about buying.  Did we want to go and then get supper somewhere.  Supper postponed!  I was hurting pretty bad so I begged off but Bob went.  I had nibbled on several crackers before they returned.   Returning home, they were all excited and couldn't wait to tell their tales; Betsy traded cars!
She is tired of putting out $500.00 a month for gas driving to work.  She will pick up the new Prius (Toyota) tomorrow night, 50 miles per gallon. She has been researching for several weeks and she had all the coupons & bonuses printed out.  She tells the story that the salesman finally said, "no more coupons!"  It will be a big adjustment for her after having the truck for 10 years.

So tonight we face a big weather change as the weather man says chance of a freeze @ 20 degrees or lower.  Why didn't the nice weather stay with us?

TUESDAY:
FROM THIS TO-
Bob's weather machine registered 18 degrees during last night.
My beautiful white Star Magnolia is all brown this morning and drooping.  Bob wonders if the fruit trees up around the lake were frozen too.  That will hurt the crops.
TO THIS!
The daffodils fell down but it doesn't look like it hurt them any.  A few are standing back up today.
We need to rake the yard but Bob's waiting till his back feels better.

I can't remember all that we did in the afternoon but at supper time Betsy said to go ahead and eat as she was going to pick up her new car.

BLACK, 4 DOOR, COMPUTER ON WHEELS!

NO KEY-JUST PUSH A BUTTON!
She took us for a ride around by the college and back thru town.  Then Bob drove.  There are so many things to learn when she asked if I wanted to drive, I said no way!  The monitor part of dash is not behind the steering wheel, it's located up high on dash and you can read all the print outs.  Weird!  There is a constant picture of the car and a print out about the car system and what's happening.  It's like a comic book and you want to reach up and turn the pages. Unreal!

WEDNESDAY:
Bob called and ordered the base plate towing parts for the Ford Escape.  Soon we will be able to hook up and pull a "toad".  I think most of the camp grounds open on April 1st.  Then where to go?
I worked on the photo albums most of the day and I have one more to change.  All camping photos from 1970's and 1980's which were falling out and turning pink.  I now have 4 large albums but I threw out eight of the old non-acid free albums.  I'm pleased with that job almost done.

THURSDAY:

Lazy morning which turned into a shopping day before & after PT.  We went to several places as I needed some gift wrap ribbon and couldn't find the color or size that I wanted.
I picked up a few things to restock (medicines & soaps) the motor home so we are prepared for the first trip.  Ya wouldn't think I'd be doing that with snow predicted this weekend.

Betsy wouldn't be home for supper so we went to Applebee's while we were out.  We haven't been there in ages and they no longer have our favorite dishes on the menu.

Once home, I fixed a cute little Easter basket for Sarah since she is going to the other Grandma's in Fl. for the holiday.  Betsy will bring it to her as she is leaving tomorrow to visit Sarah and  to attend the ceremony as Sarah gets inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.
FRIDAY:
Betsy left about 7:00am for Bryant Univ.   She stopped to fill up her new car once and it costs her $27.00, she was thrilled.
In the afternoon, we watched the movie 'Girl with the Dragon Tatto' for the second time on our big TV.  The voice was much better than the upstairs TV (it must need repaired) and we needed the second viewing to figure out the people in the story.  I had read the book a couple years ago and knew it would be gory, sadistic and etc., but wasn't prepared for the darkness.
That evening, Betsy's friend, Cassie stopped over to visit while the realtor was showing her house.  I was making chocolate chip cookies to take to Christianna's house for tomorrows snack for the workers.
SATURDAY:
We gassed up the Escape and drove to Lockport to help out with the preparations of the De Voe home.  Bob and Rocky worked on changing 5 electrical lights.  Uncle Louis, Aunt Donna (Ziti), Deb, & Christianna were all painting.  They now have two coats on every room except the sun room.  I went with Annalynn to Deb's house to work on a wedding craft.  Later in the afternoon; Rocco started painting the crown molding and that will probably be put up tomorrow.
It's looking clean and beautiful there now.

SUNDAY:
April Fools Day.   April 1st!  The first day of Trout fishing and the fishermen who line the creek banks will be greeted with a mix of rain and sugar snow. (big flakes)  Rain will raise the water and make it muddy and the fish won't bite.  We get what we get; in this unusual climate this spring.

No plans for today so we just did what ever suited ourselves.  It was wet and cold all day so we didn't even leave the house.  I watched a documentary about South West Indians installing solar power on their reservations.
They are planning on building a clean (green) coal plant which they will own and receive the benefits.

And that's another week for us.  Next week we have a full calendar and will be busy preparing for Easter.

Thanks for clicking in.
