Monday:
I had coupons for Bon-Ton that was  burning a hole in my pocket so Bob and I drove up to Eastern Hills.  I wanted to check out bathing suits (if on sale) and Bob wanted to look around at shorts and suit jackets.  It was hot out!  I found a bathing suit and he found shorts but no suit jacket.  We had lunch at Panera Bread and relaxed; then went shopping again.  No longer do we have to hurry home to let the dog out.  It is so different, almost every thing I used to do involved Cinder.  A big change in my/our life style.

Bob made a big purchase at the fishing store.  He found ultra lite boots with Posi-Grip screw in studs and light weight convertible waders.  He still had the gift certificate from Rocco that he earned back in April for putting up the sign.  So thanks Rocco for contributing to Bob's new duds.

Bob's all set for fall fishing now.
He better catch something!

Tuesday:
A nice morning!  Too bad we have bills to pay and will be stuck inside until done.  After lunch Bob took a nap and I finished cleaning the floors upstairs.  Once done with that I went on line to another bridal registry for a shower gift that is coming up in two weeks.  The groom is a camping friends grandson, Alvut-DiSalvo.     The bride has requested all red kitchen ware; I'd love to see that in the final stages.
When Bob woke up we went out to the pool.   It was really nice and warm and the pool water was 86 degrees so we just enjoyed it.
I did pack my clothes for our camping trip this week.  While waiting for supper to cook; I worked on the camping food menu and pulled needed items out of  the kitchen cupboards.   After supper we went in the pool again.  It's so refreshing in this muggy weather.

Wednesday:
Wow, time to go to bed and I'm just now checking the computer.  I've had a busy day; what with getting ready to go camping.  I went for groceries, made a Wesson Oil Chocolate cake and two cheese balls.  I have to say, I was wondering about this; push like mad to get ready to go and sit.  It's all worth it in the end, we have lots of people coming so it should be fun.
We have a big storm approaching now with lots of wind-again!  Hope the gazebo doesn't get ruined.
Well, nuf from me today; I'm off to bed.  I have a good book going about a gal who Blogs recipes, Home Interior etc. She became famous and made big money.  Then she found out her hubby was cheating on her...it's cool so far.

THURSDAY:

Today we leave for our camp out.  It still took us until 10:30 am as I decided to water all my potted plants around the pool because the rain storm that was predicted didn’t come our way last night.  Just lots of wind again.

While hooking up the car up at the college parking lot the car tail lights didn’t check out.  What to heck?  Bob came back to see what the problem was.  There are four bulbs in the tail light and two would come on when the brakes were pushed and the other two would come on with the use of turning signal and blink.  He putzed around with the wiring and fixed it.

We left and drove to the first rest area beyond Buffalo and Bob stopped to check the lights again.  They were fine so we had lunch.  We arrived at Hidden Valley (Jamestown, NY) about 2:00pm.  Our friends from Ransonville were just unhooking their car.  We were greeted by other campers.  Bob had pulled to the side to unhook our car but the drive isn’t that wide and here we sat while Bob is out there chewing the fat and the UPS truck, several others are trying to pass.  Okay Bob, move that bus!

Once at our site, Bob did a few hook ups and was talking again.  It is so nice to see different people.

Bob had to show a few his electric management system (EMS) that he just installed after purchasing it at the Good Sam Rally in Syracuse.

The Sendker’s, their friends the Burk’s, the Jae’s, Pitt’s, Hanson’s and Bohnstadt’s were already here.   Three more couples are expected Friday; with several more day guests coming in on Saturday.

We had a great afternoon visiting which extended into the evening around the campfire.  Everyone had trials and tribulations to tell about broken refrig’s, parts, credit cards, health, grand kids, caravans, memberships to different organizations etc.  Our bundle of wood lasted until about 11:00 pm.  It was getting damp and we all headed for our coaches.  The best campfire we have had in a long time!
FRIDAY:

I woke up at 5:00am as the mattress was so hard!  That takes getting used to.  I opened the curtains and our black sun shades that Bob had put up was covered with water.

DREARY MORNING
It either rained during the night or the dew was liquid.   Another camper was packed and pulling out; an overnighter.   Talk about Bob taking his time with set up; I hadn’t decorated the steering wheel yet so I finished that.  Bob awoke about 8:00 am.   Since it’s so wet out; I guess I’ll cook a good breakfast; to me that’s bacon and eggs!

A couple of the guys had driven out of camp to buy wood.  They made two trips and it was only $15.00.  Good deal as it looks like enough for the whole weekend.

RON & DICK

We visited with several people before going down town Jamestown to the LUCILLE BALL DESI ARNAZ MUSEUM.  We have been to this campground so many times and hadn’t visited it so today was the day.  We enjoyed it very much.  There was a lot to read plus TV movies.  It showed the TV set that was used for their comedy serial.  You know Lucy was born and raised in Jamestown.  Her face is painted on several buildings; they are really promoting her history.

I LOVE LUCY!
EACH STREET LIGHT HAD DESI OR LUCY'S PICTURE.
WE STOPPED FOR A TREAT ON THE WAY BACK TO CAMP!

Everyone at camp went for the fish fry dinner except Bob and me.  Bob has had bad fish the last two times out and he didn’t care to go.  I will make something easy for dinner and then we will start the campfire.

About 7:30 we went up to the hall to set up the three coffee pots for breakfast.   Then we sat around the campfire and visited.

SATURDAY:
Breakfast was at 9:00.  Sandy and Howard Pitt had made egg mic-muffin with bacon, and beef gravy and muffins, fruit and juice.  All very good.  Bob (President) held a business meeting, requesting volunteers for the Vice President and Treasurer Offices: both vacated by the death of our good friend, John Gaydica.

DIANNE & RON RECEIVING THE MEMBER OF EXCELLENCE AWARD.

After clean up, Bob and I reset the coffee pots for dinner.  We went back to our site and sat around waiting for our day visitors.  They came and a card game was started until it was time to go for the Ice Cream special sponsored by the campground owners.

NICKLE, NICKLE, PAY ME!
All the ice cream you can eat between 2:00-3:00pm.    They had all kinds of syrup and toppings.  That killed the desire for snacks with 4:00pm cocktails.
Supper time approached in no time.   Back to the dinning hall: Sandy had prepared ham for the entree and the camper ladies made all kinds of side dishes and desert.  A big campfire followed, in nice weather for the second night.  We heard fishing tales, dog capers, terror motor home breakdowns, health, other campgrounds and camping groups: a wealth of information.  With all our guests we had 29 for dinner, the best turnout since we camped here 2 years ago when Sandy & Howie hosted!
SUNDAY:
Heat it up and use it up.  Back at the dinning hall, everyone brings coffee cakes etc.  Any breakfast left over’s put out again.
Several couples packed up and left today for the work week or other obligations.  It’s nice to be able to sit and relax for one more day.  However, the temperature rose and the black “no see em” bugs were bad.  We retreated to our motor homes for lunch.  Bob took a nappie and I showered, wrote in my Blog, and read some.  Others had a card game going inside.
After supper Bob started taking down the black sun shades and the awnings before they got wet with due.  Then campfire again and I just had to have a Smore so I brought out all the goodies.
MONDAY:
I had a terrible night with stomach cramps.  That smore grew legs and arms and was dancing in my belly.  We had our last meal together in the hall; then we started packing up.
On our drive home the generator quit as the gas in the tank was to low.  It started right up after we fueled up at Native Pride (on Reservation) in Irving.  (71.7 gals @ 3.579 a gal.)  The bathroom light cover had fallen off so Bob put that back together.   We had lunch and headed out to Buffalo.  Bob in his glory behind the wheel again!

BETSY HAD FRESH PEACH PIE READY
FOR OUR 4:00 O'CLOCK COFFEE BREAK.
Peaches brought up from south by a truck driver who brings the oranges.

Computers were all messed up at home and I just didn't feel good enough to finish this and post.  Bob and Betsy worked it out but I went to bed.

TUESDAY:
Still not feeling too good; bad headache this morning.  Grandma Lang always called it "Summer Complaint!".

We had a good week, now on to the next.  My shower gift has been delivered so I need to get that wrapped.

Thanks for clicking in!
