NEW STUFF FOR THE MOTOR HOME, ANOTHER FOODIE WEEK!

MONDAY:
The day was spent in Rochester.  I had an appointment with the dermatologist and then we shopped.  I received another script which wasn't covered by MVP @ $129.42.  Too much $$$ as it was just to stop the flaking of skin, not a cure.  I called Doc's office to get a substitute.
TUESDAY:
Before getting up this morning; I laid in bed wondering what I was getting up for?  Silly ahe?  I knew I had some hand wash items and I had to fold the wash from yesterday that was hanging to dry.  Do you ever think your life is not important any more because you aren't going out to work?  I made a list and that cured that feeling!
As I began the mundane duties, the phone rang and rang.  It was noon before I realized it.
While having lunch, the news was about Britain's Royal family?  The Kate Wait.  That question is in the news all over.  I suppose it will take up a week of TV until the press is satisfied.
My friend, Mo, came over in the afternoon to visit and swim.  It was windy which made it kinda cool, the umbrellas twisted and turned on their stands.  We finally put them down so they wouldn't break.
After supper I wrapped a couple gifts and then picked up my book to read.  Pooped!

WEDNESDAY:
Cool morning!  UPS had left a package for us.  It was our new carpet for outside of the motor home.  We have been searching for this kind for some time; the friends that we camped with last weekend gave us the web site to use.  WWW.RVMAT.COM
WHOODA THOUGHT?

IT'S BREATHABLE AND NOT SUPPOSE TO KILL THE GRASS.

BOB HAS BEEN CREATING AS I WANT SOLAR LIGHTS OUTSIDE THE MOTOR HOME.
SOME PLACES THE GROUND IS TO HARD TO INSERT THEM.

I decided to use up some of the peaches.  We just had a pie so I looked for a different idea.  Going thru my recipes I found an old favorite called DUMP CAKE.

DUMP CAKE                                                             DSS/crindo
1 #2 can Cherry Pie filling
1 #2 can Crushed Pineapple (drained)
1 package yellow cake mix
1 cup melted oleo  (1/2 lb.)
1 cup flaked Coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Cool Whip

Grease a 13 X 9” pan.  Spread Cherry Pie filling evenly on bottom   of greased pan.  Then spread Crushed Pineapple over the Cherry filling.
Sprinkle with cake mix.  (Right out of box)   Cover with melted oleo.  Top with Coconut and nuts.  Bake in 350◦ oven, 1 hour.   Serve hot or cold with Cool Whip.

This is what I made but I had to modify the recipe.  I omitted the cherry & pineapple so I could use the fresh peaches.  I peeled about 10; added 2 cups of sugar, and 4 tablespoons of mini tapioca.  Then followed the same directions for baking.  I put a cookie sheet under the 9 X 13 dish as I figured it would run over the dish. It did.

KINDA MESSY LOOKING BUT VERY, VERY  GOOD!

Since it was cool, Bob started scraping the white trim on the shed which needs painting.

Another good treat, I made fried yellow squash for supper.  I dip it in egg & milk, then into Bisquick.  Nothing better in this world!

THURSDAY:
Some days are busier than others.  It was still cool (well better than 90 degrees) so I planned on making jam to use up the rest of the peaches.  Bob went out and started his painting project.

HE IS DOING THE DECOS OFF THE SHED.

So I plunged ahead to find out that I only had one box of Sure Jell on hand.  All the dragging out of jars, pots and pans for one batch!  Stupid!

EVERYTHING IS PEACHY!

Once everything was cleaned up, we had lunch.  After I went down to the library to return and pick out some new books.  Bob wanted me to pick up his prescriptions on the way home so I did.
My friend Mickey called to say they (Ed came too) would be stopping by to drop off her gift for the shower this weekend.  She was to have a procedure at Roswell on Wednesday but it was rescheduled until Friday.  Pretty upsetting for her.  We visited.  I gave her some jam and Dump Cake to bring home.

Now it's supper time and I feel hurried.  I wanted to try the chicken tenders on the Bisquick box.   Bob and Betsy had a small job to do so the panic about time was wiped off my shoulders.

Chicken Tenders - They turned out so good!
The family said it was a keeper!

Annalynn is picking up her wedding gown today!  Very exciting!
FRIDAY:
Well, I was going grocery shopping early this morning until I remembered that Bob has a Retirement Party for his Boss this morning.  He needs the car.  In Bob's 30 some years, he had at least 4 different bosses.

MAC AND BOB
Bob enjoyed reviewing all the building adventures with all the old employees.  He had the scoop on some of the new products too.  He met Mac's replacement who is from California.   He had a great time, was ready for his nappie by 2:30 when he came home.

While he napped, I took off for the Farmer's Market and Tops grocery store.  It was supper time until I had all the groceries stored away. Bob suggested going out so we drove over to Leroy for Dolly's (LB Grand) famous spaghetti.  Betsy and I need to make a new batch of sauce for our freezer; it's been a dry spell.

SATURDAY:
Today I have a party!  Up and at-em!  I picked up my friend, Barb, and we drove to Darien Center for the shower for her grandson's bride to be.

I'm told this will be a very country wedding at Hidden Valley; the attendants were all in cowboy boots!  The tables were very pretty with fresh flowers, candles on top of coffee beans in mason jars, our drinks in mason jars and burlap table runners.  The brides father made this "country" 3 tier stand to hold the cupcakes.

MADE FROM LOG SLICES.  UNIQUE!

The cupcakes were from a bakery in Corfu.  I need to go there and check that out; they were delicious!

So we return home about 3:30 and I'm ready for a nappie.  I had a terrible night so I didn't feel bad about napping.  Knee hurt all night from shopping-I guess.

After supper, I watered my plants.  They were so dry, they just gobbled up the water.  Now Bloggin until time to go read.

SUNDAY:

Today is cool so no plans for swimming.  The coldest July on record they say on TV.

We had trouble with the Internet since early this morning.  Betsy called and they said a signal wasn't coming from the outside pole.  Now she checked at 4:30 and it's working.  What to heck?  They said they would come out Tuesday to check the lines.

I'll go ahead and post now while I can.

Hope you all have a good week and thanks for checking in.
