Well Top of the Morning to ya! It's a beautiful St. Patrick's Day. Still a little chilly, Did you all celebrate with corn beef and cabbage? I would have liked a Reuben but that didn't come about for me. We had chicken to eat up so it wouldn't go bad.
St. Pat's is a recognized holiday but unless your at a parade or such doings, it's just another quite day. Housework, a nap, meals, and of course some crafting.
MY FIRST CARD THAT FLIPS! |
Bob went to meet the Fire Fighters and has the low down on their plans for building a new fire building on Stringham property and he is typing it up for all the neighbors. Supposedly, they bought all the acreage that Mr. Stringham owns.

At my eye exam in February it was recommended that I see another specialist to check out my cataracts. Today was the day to do that. I stewed and stewed as the doctors name was foreign and I worried if I would understand him. Plus I don't like all those drops in my eyes. Really, don't mess with my eyes.
Bob drove so I would have a driver to come home. I went thru all the exams AGAIN and another copay! Then they had videos for me to watch. Then the twenty minute wait for the doctor. Much to my surprise the doctor was a she! Young, little shy, but very well spoken...must be American born. Thank you God for that blessing. My date for surgery is more than a month away, that's how busy or booked things are.
We thought our son was coming for supper so back at home I made an effort to cook! Ha, imagine that! First I put a pineapple up-side down cake in the oven. (favorite of Bob & David) Then I was making a salad and I heard - hello- hello. It was David and he had finished his business call early, came here but wouldn't be staying for supper. Oh. He wanted some photos copied over to a stick and then he left for another meeting. I put steaming hot upside- down cake in a carry out for him and Donna. We do not need a whole cake sitting around here.
After our supper I took my coffee to the back porch and counted the deer. So many bunches of them; I counted 41 and then 7 more came over the ridge into view. What a surprise. Where are they all winter?
That evening Bob struggled to make brackets for the March Madness contest that granddaughter Annalynn organizes for LLS.
We are not tried and true followers so we don't know what to heck to pick but it does make watching the games more interesting, just to see who is still in the running.
I needed a birthday card so off to the craft room with me.
WEDNESDAY:
Our plans to visit the Sugar Bush for pancakes and syrup were cancelled again because one of our friends was ill. So as long as we had showered and dressed we said "let's punt". We made a list of things to get done and took off; first a couple errands down town, then on to Buffalo to shop. What a gruelling day. It was nice and warm until about 3:00 pm when it started to rain.
We returned home about 6:00 pm, had warm ups for supper, then watched the TV games until we fell asleep.
THURSDAY:
Last night it rained off and on. This morning it was still spiting. Slowly with the wind, the temp dropped and the rain changed to hail then snow. It was very nasty again, sometimes white outs, so nothing to do but stay in.
I cleaned house in the craft room. There was boxes of gift deliveries for all these showers so I wrapped some of the gifts and threw out the delivery boxes. That was a big improvement. There was a box of mis-mash decorations left over from the last shower so I filed all that back in place. Just takes time.
Bored with that job, I started cutting out some cards. Lots of pieces. I worked like a booger until time to start supper.
Bob went for a hair cut and stopped at Verizon as his phone wasn't working right. He was just there yesterday and they must have disconnected two things that were a problem.
The evening was all basketball as March Madness has started and we are watching the brackets. Bob can't find our names so we must be at the bottom of the list already. That's not a surprise as we know "0" about the teams.
FRIDAY:
One of those mornings where you sit around and ask each other what are you going to do today? Nothing planned and nothing demanding on the slate.
The day was quite. Bob had a wood project going in the garage and he wasn't a bother. Ha! I mean he entertained himself. I snuck off to my craft room. I'm still working on cards.
For some reason, I thought about the IKEA sign we saw in Rochester the last time we went there. It stated the opening but now I can't remember if it's this fall or next. I've always wanted to go to one. I know there is one in Canada and one in Pittsburgh which is a good days drive so we haven't ventured there. We'll just look forward to this one.
About it for today, bed time now.
SATURDAY:
Bob was up and gone by the time I awoke. He wanted to go to Godfrey's Pond and help release the trout into the pond. The more I hear about that place, the more I'm surprised. Along with their own maple bush/syrup makings, they have their own trout raising farm. Bob has 40 some pictures. Okay Bob, did you help out? The men sorted the fish by size and breeding requirements. A boy scout troop was camping there and helped to carry the selected trout to the pond.

MY STAMPIN UP CONSULTANT, BECKY O'DONNELL, COLORED 13 BUNNIES FOR ME SO I'M MAKING 13 CARDS. |
Bob had the Syracuse game on. They lost out. We lost out with the March Madness brackets and are at the bottom of the list.
SUNDAY:
Still cold and it looks like it will be thru the early part of the week. So tired of it.
Bob finished his wood cutting project and then we went over town to look for paint. We tried Wal-Mart and Jo Ann's and finally found the right color at Michael's.
While in Jo Ann's, I found a punch that I need to finish one part of the cards.
Bob was in Michael's for a long time. The Wal Mart clerk had called there and established that they had the paint and would bring it to the check out counter. So what's taking so long Bob? Well, come to find out, Debbie had mentioned an app for the phone for Michael's for their coupons. Of course Bob had to know about that. Nothing to do but ask the cashier and she ended up installing the app for him. Then she scanned the 40% coupon on his phone and he returned my coupon to me. It wasn't needed. He was so excited to show me and to put the app on my phone. No more printing or cutting Michael's coupons!!!Hooray!
That's our week. I have more that I want to do tonight so guess I'll post. Betsy is complaining that the weekend is over and it's back to work tomorrow.
Thanks for clicking in and have a good week.
