MAKING THE BANK SWITCH, BURNT COOKIES, MORE PLANS THAN MONEY!

MONDAY:
Last week, I had the most readers ever!  I checked the counter and was most pleasantly surprised.
It was off to Rochester for us today.  I had an appointment with the dermatologist.  I was in and out in about 25 minutes and we had the rest of the day to enjoy.  Sick of the fast foods, we went to Denny's for a good breakfast and fresh coffee.
We have all had a few complications with our stomachs lately so as we entered the big city BJ's, I told Bob we need to look for some Tums.  Yep, guess what we walked out of the store without?   I found three books to read; two from recent movies (Life of Pi and Argo) that won awards on the Oscar show.
TUESDAY:
I started functioning about 9:00am.  I wanted to bake cookies in the micro/convection oven.   We had a lunch date at 1:00pm so I knew I had to hurry.  I used both ovens.  The first tray out of the micro/convection was beautiful!  No burn marks.  Happy am I.  Out of the regular oven there was.  Then all of a sudden we started to smell burning.  Now what?  I checked the regular oven, no pot holders in there.  Then I checked the convection-oh my oh my, I burned the whole tray of cookies absolutely black!  The only thing that I can figure out is that the convection goes back to micro heat once it shuts off.  The one in the motor home stays on convection until all trays are finished.  Nothing to do but try another tray and it turned out good so guess I didn't ruin the units.
I packed the good cookies to give to our friend, Bob J.(the judge) at lunch.  We were at the Miss Batavia for a couple hours visiting.  Bob bought some filters for the motor home from the Judge since he now has a newer motor home and it has different size filters.  We both had big meals so supper wasn't necessary.  (Ah, a break!)
The weather is turning sour again.  Betsy's car is covered with sleet.  She will have to defrost in the morning.
WEDNESDAY:
Fishing was cancelled due to the weather.  The guys have plans to go to a turkey dinner on Saturday night instead.

I finished one of the three books already.  Look Again by Lisa Scottoline.  It was very good mystery but there wasn't much of her humor as I have read in some of her other novels.

We went to exercise and then hit the near- by grocery store.  I wanted to try a salad recipe that was in the Holiday Ramblings magazine.  It required several ingredients but it didn't cost $55.00, must be we picked up some extra items again.

The salad was excellent!  It's a big one and would be good for a bigger family.  It has roasted pecans, feta cheese, c-raisins, thinly sliced apples, and lettuce; tossed with a sweet "home mader" dressing.  The family said, "it's a keeper!".  It was very good with ham.  I used Gala apples instead of Granny and I left out the oregano-that's for pizza!  If I make it again, I think I'll cut back on the sugar.
THURSDAY:
The last day of the month. Feb. went fast, but still to long until nice warm weather. Our morning was spent copying all our needed paper work to go back to the bank of choice to make the switch.  I'm promised a credit card download into Quicken which will be nice.  We have to call for instructions and do it on computer once the account stuff goes through.

I cut the rest of last nights ham up and made ham salad for lunch.  Then it was time to go.    We were at the bank for an hour and a half; then on to do a few other errands.

I had taken a pound of hamburg out for supper and I didn't want Sloppy Joe's again so Betsy and I concocted a Taco Salad with meat and cheeses.  It was pretty good.
Betsy had cut several coupons out for BJ's so she and I went there after supper.  Sarah is coming home this weekend so Betsy stocked up on some of her needs.
While we were gone; Bob made reservations for a Good Sam Rally at the State Fair Grounds for June.  Reba and Wayne Newton will be there!   We are Good Sam members but this is will be our first experience camping with them.

That's it for today; I'm done in.
FRIDAY:
Bob was a busy boy; he also scheduled another Apple School group session for today a 3:15pm.  So we left our house about 11:00am and headed to Eastern Hills as I had a Bon Ton coupon book that Debbie was selling for Leukemia.  I felt like the Galloping Gourmet...a little in Michael's, JoAnn's, Bon Ton, Macy's, Williams Sonma, and Galleria Mall.

When I couldn't go anymore and left Macy's to go back and pick up Bob at school, there was a stage set up just outside of Sears and kids from the audience would volunteer to sing.  It was organized with back up music but I  asked if it was a contest and the lady next to me said no.  I sat there probably 45 minutes just enjoying it all.  Again, don't judge a book by it's cover-some of the best voices were tall, lanky, straggly haired boys in miss-matched clothing and some hip hop girls with colored hair streaks wowed the place.
After we had prearranged to met Donna & David for supper at the new Long Horn Steak house.  Everyone's meal was very good and we would go there again.  They were a little short on the cinnamon and butter for baked sweet potato but was willing to bring more.
Exhausted-I went to bed a 9:30pm.  Sarah is on her way home but I didn't stay up.
SATURDAY:
Not such a good morning; road are covered and look slick!  I'm invited to go to the Niagara Outlet Mall with the girls but I think I'll decline.  Mostly because of  the look of the roads and my legs have had it from yesterday.

The girls left for the Niagara Outlet Mall.  I took an afternoon nap while Bob downloaded the updated Quicken program.  The girls came back home early.

Bob left for a Sportsman's Dinner.  (Deer and turkey cooked many different ways.)  He came home with prizes.

Sarah and I watched a show on Net Flex called Breaking Bad.  Then she went out for the evening.  I ditched the book "Life of Pi"  to blah; and started Argo.  Looks promising.

A quite evening.

SUNDAY:
Following breakfast, we visited with Sarah until she had to pack for the return trip to Boston.  She likes her job now that the long evening hours are over.  That's good news.  We packed a big box of groceries for her.

Sorry, I didn't think to take photos this week.  Just didn't get excited about anything to think about it.  Blog looks pretty plain doesn't it?

Bob and I spent the afternoon exploring the new Quicken updates.  A few nice things and a few not so nice.  He has a list and will call the help person tomorrow.

About it.  Guess I'll post now.  Hope you all have a good week and stay healthy.  Thanks for clicking in.
